TLH - 17 Oct 2007recieved a call late last night from the relay service to e-mail right away to alexbstore@yahoo.com to buy my puppies. no response right away, but today the letter is the same as mentioned above e-mail

the destination mentioned was new jersey and will pay an extra $50 to hold the puppies until the shipping company picks up. The name given was Alex Reymond.
Tell others you know to always check! I have had simular instances about goats suposed to go to Iraq. Never gave out the info requested.

Squeaky - 21 Oct 2007A man called me this 8:04am Sunday 21 Oct 07 claiming he had a person on the line waiting for me to talk to. I asked him who it was and he could not tell me. At that point I said ok "NO" and "BYE". Than I hung up. Sounds like a scam artist to me.

Relay operators are not allowed to talk to the customers (either the voice or text user) so if you're gonna ask them who's calling or what the screen name of the person they're talking to is, they won't be able to give an answer. They're like human telephone wires merely transmitting messages from both parties.

faceshutup - 10 Nov 2007Its 4 in the fing morning and the 0033 number just called me and woke me up. I didn't even answer, because my phones on the wrong side of the room, THEN i thought it might have been a friend of got arrested for whatever reason....but no, just some random scam. Wow, just sad.

it said ' i love you ashley ' and a whole bunch of numbers at the end, i was too tired and i figured it just a prank
i could tell it was a computer or something saying what someone had typed ..
but what is this ? is it a kind of prank thing or is it bigger than that ?

Mrs. S. - 11 Nov 2007We also had a ad in our local paper for birds for sale. The first call came at 10:15pm, which is late for us, but I answered and also spoke to the relay operator. I was annoyed they called so late and when he asked I email him information I told him I didn't have a computer (lie) and would give them any information right at the time. They then told me to go to a internet cafe and email them the info. I then said I didn't know how to even turn on a computer and they insisted. By then I was so annoyed I just hung up. Today I recieved another call from them so I kind of felt bad about being rude before. At first he asked about puppies we had for sale, I told him we had birds, not puppies! He then said that's what he meant!! He then gave me his email address to send information. The address was jykimq47@yahoo.com. At the end of the call I got a recording from the relay supervisor saying they thought this may be a scam call and not to give any credit card informattion to the caller. I did try to email but it came back to me also. I did check the phone number and it came from Cleveland, Ohio. I am so glad I did this check before getting too involved with this. Thank you to all of you for posting this.

They e-mailed me back with very poor english translation language. They wanted to send an overdraft check?? and told me to cash it as soon as I got it...right!! They would send someone to handle the shipping. How dumb do some people think we are?

it was originally for those who are hard of hearing and the sender types a message into a computer and the relay service calls the number that the sender gave them. you can speak back to the person as if it were a regular conversation.

They pick up their victims from adds in local newspapers.They use the service for deaf people to connect via internet or to call, and (posing as a buyers) suck up personal information as names addresses and telephone numbers. All this requires time and money and obviously it is not an innocent game. The stolen data is for sale and they receive money for it. It is a job for the police or FBI to see where this information is going on and who exactly is behind this scam. Mustikos - 13 Nov 2007I haven't gotten a call from this number, but I work for an antique dealer a few days a week and have done mail order for years. If you are selling something and someone wants to pay with a money order or even a bank check, you still MUST WAIT FOR IT TO CLEAR YOUR BANK. We got a certified bank check, watermarked and everything, and waited for it to clear and it turned out to be fraud. So BEWARE! there are so many insecure, selfish, jealous scam artists out there, they go to great lengths to try to rob you. BEWARE!

danielle - 18 Nov 2007i got a call from this number twice tonight, and the first time i hung up. the second time i let it go and answered, and did what the operator said. the "caller" said hi, i said hello, and he said hey. i'm not selling anything like some of the other posts i've seen, and i have no idea how this person/computer got my number.

Janice - 21 Nov 2007I received the same e-mail about a piano I have for sale. It was strange they wanted me to pay for the shipping out of what they sent me. I ignorantly gave them my phone number and mailing address. Then later that day I had a Relay call which came on my cell phone. I told the operator I was extremely busy so I could switch my cell back to my land line. They never called back. Not sure if I will be getting anything in the mail or not but I sent a quick e-mail back to the person this morning stating my item had been sold.

I believe it was a woman telling me she was doing a "replay" phone call,
where the person who is trying to communicate with me is going through her
by some sort of form of typing,
through the internet,
and that i had to say "to start, you must say go ahead."
i know this boy eero at my school,
but anyhow she said i had to speak in first person to eero
and i do know eero,
but i had a feeling it was a joke because it was all about how he was supposedly in love with me,
basically a lot of bs.
i just want to know if anything can be done so i can see where the call was coming from.
