farley - 4 Mar 2008This number comes up on my phone almost everyday for the past week or so. I asked them to take me off their list and stop calling. They do not listen and still call. I too am on the do not call list. Very frustrating.

homegirl - 27 Mar 2008they called today and said that my husband has signed up to stuff envelopes.i told them i had no idea and to please call back. sounded like a phone bank in the background. called the number back and gtot a machine that said they were who they said then were, but gave me the option of hitting #1 to get no more calls.

After some considerable other searching today, I have found it I think, and written up the results as a web page on my personal site, www.ttrresearch.com/pfr/donorcare.htm, includes phones and emails from the originator.

mountain red - 9 Jul 2008Yes, I get those calls everyday, pick up the phone and no one is there. My husband did talk to someone and he also agreed to stuff envelopes and never heard from anyone. They are annoying.

ny 216 453 1574 - 28 Feb 2008I just spoke to a person at the other end of the line of the Donor Care Center; I'll paraphrase; They are not American Cancer Society but "act on behalf" of them. They said their call was not a request for money (yeah, right) They asked if I would like to accept 17 letters which would be sent by them to me. MY " commitment" would be to add postage and send the letters, presumably to people I know. There was more to the conversation, but let's just say the call went quickly downhill.
That this group could actually be related to any branch of the Cancer Society is a damn shame. Maybe this group is connected to ACS in a 90%/10%
split.

If you have ever spoken to a really sweet person from this number, then that would probably be me. But then again, if you spoke to me you would probably not be complaining on this site! I would be happy to answer questions, as well as clear up misinformation. I will be leaving my job in two weeks to move out-of-state, and have no problem speaking frankly. Fire away.

Trish - 4 Mar 2008Received call at 2:15pm. Got that "pregnant pause" where no one is there, then the background noise of lots of people talking. I repeatedly pushed the * button on my phone and THEY DID IT BACK TO ME!!!! Had to use *69 to retrieve number that had called me. Am also on DO NOT CALL list so I'm not pleased.

I picked up tonight (3/5/08) and the woman addressed me by name and said something about 'your policy' before I hit the wrong button and disconnected us. I waited for them to call back but they didn't. I went to Google and was quite surprised at the number of reports of this particular number.

CATHY - 7 Mar 2008I get calls from this number 2X each day; one in the morning and one in the evening. I do not answer since I have caller ID and don't recognize this caller. I am on all Do Not Call lists. I hope they give up eventually!

irritated - 11 Mar 2008getting calls every day from this number. same experience. i reported it to the FCC. it's easy to do on line. i just googled "Federal Communications Committee" you have to fill out a brief complaint form. If everyone does it, they'll take care of it. the last time something like this was happening, some of us reported it, and it was taken care of very quickly.
