I just received a call from this number today and I decided to call back. When I was calling it said something about the United Reader Service General Line. When the female answered the phone she seemed irritaed when I asked why she was calling me. She went on some rant about I was entered into a 25,000 sweepstakes because I am a preffered customer for my bank or credit card company and asked how the weather was in IL since Iowa (where she is located) is bad. Then I replied by saying that I know for a fact that my bank or my credit card company would not silicit my information she hung up on me. I called back again and demanded that my name be removed from this "list" of hers and then she hung up on me again. I am not sure where to go from here but this obviously a scam!!!! I also have noticed that most of us are females that have posted. Did anyone register at David's Bridal by chance?

One of my favorite telemarketer scumbags is a guy named Richard Salvador aka Richard Dunbar of Great Northwest Advertising (http://www.penslinger.net). Richard spoofs his caller id using http://www.spoofcard.com. Richard served 5 years (was sentenced to 9) for his part in one of the nations largest telemarketing scams in U.S. history. He was targeting and ripping off senior citizens. The FBI sting operation was called "operation disconnect" and another called "senior sentinal". Richard routinely threatens to kill people. Customers, competitors, employees etc. He likes to record himself doing so using spoofcards recording features. Richard recently put his 14 year old daughter in the hospital. Apparently he considers himself a big martial arts action hero with over 4 MONTHS of extensive training. His ex wife and daughter are now in hiding. He uses methamphetamines and steroids. He was kicked out of the U.S. Marine Corps for selling dope. Check out Richard threatening to bash peoples skulls open and shoot his competitors in the head:

They called me today and didn't leave a message.

Got a call from this number today and it said "Ohio Call" on my caller ID.  I only know one person from Ohio and it wasn't even close.  The funny thing about it is that i was having an arguement with my family while the person was on hold so they hung up. lol!  Now I'm glad for it because i really didn't want to have to be rude to the person about not subscribing to a magazine of sorts.  I'm still trying to get rid of my previous subscriptions...

Called my cell number - something about being entered for a dream vacation.  Told them I was not interested and to remove me from any call lists.  I have registered my number under the CA "Do Not Call" registry and should be protected from this.  This I will file a complaint.

I didn't answer it, because I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize.  They call everyday though & it is getting old.

Called me today while I was at work, twice. I never answered and no voice mail.

Ask to talk with Shirley, I hung up, didn't reconized the number.

This is the second time I received a call from this number.  I didn't answer; they didn't leave a message.

I also received a call from this number telling me that I had been entered in a $25,000 sweepstake by a major credit card. I excused myself from the call explaing to the caller that she was using up my cell phone minutes. I am quite sure she was fishing for credit card information, etc.

Beware, I have also had calls from a similar scam in out of Florida which is trying to send vouchers for free gas, (courtesy of a major credit card of course.) This happened after I purchased a product from the bender ball info commercial. They actually had the last four digits of my card!

I got a call from this number today; didn't answer it as I didn't recognize the number.

Was verbally gunned down by an associate that answered my return call.  We are on do not call list and my mother-in-law ordered us shotty magazine subs and that's where they got our info.
(NEVER ORDER MAGAZINES!!!  You can easily get them online.  I'm going to find out who the sub is thru and cancel just because of this.)
Associate told me I should have picked up the calls so they could have helped me.  (She apparently doesn't know what do not call means!)  I told her to remove me immediately and became very pissy when I wouldn't give her my name...only my number.  Even said she HAD to have my name to do it, but in the end I was right...she was able to use the number.
Now, just let them call - I'll be looking for a good lawyer!

I received a call from this company.  However, they did not leave a message.  A few months back, I received a call from this company at 1AM!!

The company Is called United Reader.  I also have my cell# on the do not caal list.

Ever since I ordered the Bender Ball a few weeks back I've been getting these calls. So I played their games, I called them today and hung up on them for a change. Childish play I know but I couldn't help myself.

This number keeps calling my cell # Iam in North Carolina, I am also register with the "Do not call" list I am not sure what is going on, I wish they stop calling me it is using up my minutes.

I received a call from an overly pleasant girl named Lindsay from this number one morning. She claimed that I had automatically been entered in a huge giveaway of vacations, a car, money, and many other things and that this was being sponsored by a major credit card that I apparently have. In addition, I would receive this great watch worth over $100. She was really nice and asked me all sorts of questions and kept saying how great it would be if I won. Then, she went into her spiel about this great offer to get 5 magazines for only 12 dollars or some such bull and recommended some she thought I would love. She asked for my credit or debit card number just to take care of the first payment, and when I said no, her demeanor completely changed. She went from being sickeningly sweet to completely rude and pushy. It was actually quite disturbing. After about 5 or 6 attempts of talking me into it, she finally gave up and very blunty said, "Fine, you just have a great day then," and hung up on me. I quickly realized I probably just avoided getting involved in a huge scam of some kind, and was interested to see how many other people have had the same call.

I just got this call and they were rambling on for a while.  Hung up on them.  And I'm on the Do Not Call list.

Recieved a call from 216-456-8038; I did not recognize it so I answered by giving my name--they hung up. I was going to call back but decieded to do a search and found this site. Thanks for all the work and saving me the trouble.  BTW, I am on the do not call list.
