Call many times a day to my cell phone. Here's what to do.

    1. Save their number to your phone book (if you have a SIM card you need to save it to your phone, not to your SIM card).

    2. Put it in a separate category.

    3. Set the ringer for that category to SILENT.

Now they can call you all they want and you'll never know it.

Bank of America try to collect a delinquent account.  If they call you, they will give you fake deadlines.  They have given me 4 of these and nothing has happened yet.  After 160 days, it will go to a collection agency.  Once it goes to a 3rd party (outside collection agency) you can just send them a cease and desist letter via certified mail and cannot call you by law.

    BOA [***]
BOA is ridiculous. My wife passed away also. They don't seem to understand that I will not and cannot pay on her account. SHE IS DEAD!!
Let them send it to a 3rd Party! I will just send the cease and desist letter. The best one was when some guy whom I could not understand tried to tell me it would affect her credit! Ummmm...I repeated what part of DEAD/DECEASED do you not understand. I even offered to send a copy of her death certificate! And I was not on her account and this guy was giving me all the info on her account. These people are idiots!!! I also agree the CEO of BOA should pay my wife's account. He has stolen our money over the last few years. FYI..the guy also said by not paying suspends my wife's charging power. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! BOA is the worst!!!

Rather than "no ring", I set mine for a "single beep".

That way, I know when they're calling, if I have the phone with me, but it's not loud enough to bother me if I'm in the next room.

I want to know when one of these dirtbags is calling me, so I don't accidentally answer, by opening the flip to place an outgoing call.

Whenever, I here the beep, I listen for the next tone, indicating that they've hung up and it's safe to use my phone again without being harassed.

How do we get a cease and desist note to give this person at the 216 number? How can we be sure the c&d notification will be honored. Kind of like people sending out restraining order to someone who harasses but the order is ignored.

once you send the c&d, they just sell the debt to another collection agency and the process starts all over again

This is a collection agency for bank cards that have been written off. Told them they reap what the sow. In 2007 I paid off 3.5 million in small business loans, had an 830 FICO score, and had ran my own business that employed 30 people for over 16 years. Then the banks decided not to make small business loans any longer because they had taken bad risks on buying up junk mortgages. After losing several big contracts because I couldn't purchase enough raw materials, I was forced to close my business and lay off all my employees. Now I can’t pay them back… their loss. They made their bed. They can get a judgement against me, but can’t attach what isn’t there. By law they can’t take my medicaid and foodstamps, so screw them. I also advised my employees not to bankrupt themselves trying to pay these crooks, they got our tax $$$ with the TARP bailout.

When their calls come, I just flip my phone open, set it down next to me, and let them listen to the background noise.  I don't even want to give them an opportunity to leave a voicemail.
