A call just came in on one of our unlisted numbers stating that a message had come through to the effect that our computer security with Windows was not working. Something like that. The man had a foreign accent which was very difficult to understand. He asked if i was at the computer and said he wanted to instruct me on several steps to take. I disconnected the call at that point.

1-216-953-5274-Received this call numerous times. Caller says he works for a Microsoft company, and they see where my computer has been compromised.  My network security is not secure, and he wanted me to log on so that he could walk me through some steps to help.  Stated name as Lee Hardy. Wanted me to verify by going to his company website, www.ussservices.co.  That is not a Microsoft company.

I was alerted by a large blue screen on my computer that it was at risk. Called an 800# and talked (for a long time) to someone named Jack. Eventually we realized he was not a Microsoft employee.  We declined to take his offer and had a difficult time getting our computer back from him. He called four times after that and we said no!

Joanna, this screen is a pop-up that can be "pushed" onto your PC. They typically inform you of impending doom, crashes, viruses, hijackings and the like, just so you call them, connect to a "technician" and have them look at the "problem". In the meantime, they can be stealing your personal data and files, charging you for unwarranted "service" (or "service plans"), and even destroying your data in their wake.

Ignore that screen!  If you cannot close it, try restarting your PC (with power-off and power-on) and it may do the trick. If not, you may need help from a bona fide techie.  Microsoft charges nearly $250 an hour if you call the right--and real--number. Others are liars, cheats and criminals. Stay clear!

That Indian gent has been at this scam for awhile! He says the same spiel about network issues and Microsoft. When I confronted him about the business postal address of his bogus company he repeated "Ohio" and hung up after I gave him my spiel! BLOCKED.
He also generates numbers out of NJ and Nebraska.

I got the same call from a hard to understand foreigner saying he worked for the company Microsoft and that my home computer was being hacked. I said "really my home computer?" He replied "yes sir, I'mean calling you to help you with it" I said "Wow! That would be great if you could help me with this problem! But 1st there's a even bigger problem." He replied "what is that?" I said "I don't have a home computer!" The phone instantly went dead. Piece of s**t was trying to play a scam!
