Called today, did not leave a message

I got a call from a person who wanted to know if I was interested in answering some questions regarding a survey "about insurance" being done by this "Center for Consumer Feedback."  I asked what kind of insurance they were interested in knowing about, life, health, auto -- they responded, "just insurance."  I kept asking the person, "Who is this center working for and who was paying for the research?"  They just said it was for the center and when I started asking more questions the guy hung up on me.  HA!  

I researched online who the "Center for Consumer Feedback" is.  Interestingly, I found that State Farm Insurance Company has got a new "Center for Consumer Feedback."  http://www.sfresearchcenter.com/opportunities.htm#

The phone number (217)78-6929 has been harrassing me for weeks; last week a female stated she was calling in regards to "your home"; told her I was not interested and hung up.  The week before I told the caller to remove my number from their call list, which evidently they, to date,  have not done.

Yesterday, 4/10/08, at 5:34 pm, I received a call from them, another female; could barely hear her, told her so; she stated that they "would call back later."  I called the number back; you get a recording stating something about "research" however, you cannot speak to anyone and they will be calling you again.

TODAY, 4/11/08, at 5:34pm, I get another call from them; I let it ring several times before answering.  Upon answering, my saying "hello" several times got NO response on the other end--just dead air--I TRIED to hang up; however, my caller ID kept showing "line in use"  and would not disconnect, so I had to unplug my phone for several seconds to get the line to release.

I am SICK AND TIRED of these jerk heads!!! I HOPE someone will read this who can help me get them to quit calling me--I can't Call block them BECAUSE it is long distance and I have NO long distance AND it costs $9 now w/my phone company for a "phone trace";  so what the hell is a person suppose to do--change phone numbers, an addi'l cost and the idiots will probably get my number again!!!

Calls from this number at various times to my cell phone. They don't leave a message.

State Farm has its corporate offices in Bloomington IL (Area Code 309), so this would match the area code around central Illinois.  I live in Seattle WA, and I'm not sure how they obtained my cell # unless my State Farm agent provided it.  I don't normally recieve calls from Illinois, so at least I know not to pick up.

They call me too make sure you are on the dnc list and report it to the dnc lists if you have been on the list for 30 days or more. If enough complaints come in they will be given a nice size fine for calling a registered dnc.

I got a call from 217-278-6929 at 7:09 tonight and 7:59 last night. I did not answer because I did not know the number and they did not leave a message. Glad to read other's reports. Thanks

I have been getting numerous calls from this number at all times of the day- they don't give up!  I have been getting calls as late as 9:00 P.M.!!!

This number is from the Center for Consumer Research, which is run by State Farm.  If you are getting these annoying calls, you can call 217-278-6900 to give them a verbal "Cease and desist" warning.

If you don't get any action, call your State Farm rep, and tell them you are going to cxl your rpolicy if you get another call.  This is what I just did!!

Got a call from this number at 9:38 today (6/26).  I wasn't near my phone and they didn't leave a message.  It may be State Farm Insurance like everyone says because I used to use this insurance.

I have received 7 call from this number in the last couple of weeks - they never leave a message. I am soooooo glad I found this web-site now I know I will not answer when they call.

I received a call today from 217-278-6929 and the caller purported to be surveying about insurance. I got the name of his company and asked him to hold as I looked him up on Google. Finding "Center for Consumer Feedback" linked to a Wikipedia article on "State Farm Research Center", I mentioned to him that I found this association and that I thought he said they were independent. He got flustered and hung up... Turning the tables <grin>. We'll see if they call back...
