i got a call

they claim they are from microsoft, and that you're computer has been sending out messages and may be corrupted.  They want some serial number or something off your computer..told him I wasn't near the computer, he was very persistent on a specific time to call back.  Likely a scam.

got call, no answer, after second Hello? was disconnected. caller ID says Payphone

numerous calls advising they are offering free credit report.  asking for personal info.

called twice. Asking for permission to send free college information to me....claimed to already have my address, but wanted to confirm it was the right place. I said I was sick and then he wished me "Inshalee" and hung up. Come to find out from my middle eastern bf that it means "if god permits". Why would a telemarketer speak to me in another language?

Called identified as Microsoft Security representatives. I allowed their accessing my computer & they showed my windows/inf files as evidence of computer corruption. They had a $99 package which would solve the problems, but while they were talking, I disconnected the computer so they could not install any corrupting software. The agent responded, "you turned off your computer. It will be permanently damaged now unless you allow us to correct those errors." I hung up. Everything seems to be working now.

Got a call indicating he was with Windows. I"ve had two other calls today, one from 607-737-0186 and the other from 585-243-9807 in each case computer related.

Just got a call from said number said he was a microsofe rep. and my computer was sending out a message saying it was corrupted and they could fix it. I told the guy microsoft never phones and hung up

Just got a call from 217-398-9544 about an alleged virus or trojan on my computer. After I refused to give their "technician" access to my computer the caller who spoke with a heavy Indian accent threatened me to call the police me and put me in jail. When I asked him how does he know my IP address he told he "can't see it on his screen" but instead gave me my MAILING address, however, an old one - so he definitely did not find it on YellowPages but probably obtained it from Dell's database (he mentioned that's the address is what my computer is registered on).

These guys call the house once a month, always on a Saturday. They tell me they are from Windows and they say my computer is sending them signals indicating a virus on my computer. They never address me by name, so I always ask them to provide me with details about me, which they're never able to. I finally informed the guy on the phone about this little discrepency and asked the guy who he really was to which he replied "We are the scammers" and that "I better hang up the phone" to which then he disconnected the call.

HAHAHA!!! I told them my computer was running amock! it has called the neighbors and threatened them,that it has gotten into the cable box and switched off our movie channels.It started a small fire in the office and threatens to kill me if I reach for it's power plug.
I told them they needed to come over and perform a computer "Exorcism", told them I was willing to pay THOUSANDS of dollars to end this reign of terror. I gave them an address to the city police maintenance yard.......
Lets see if they show up!

I received a call on my cell phone (do not know how they got my number as I only give it out to select people).  The person calling had a foreign accent and was very badly trying to pronounce my name.  When I asked who he was he "immediately" hung up.

Recieved a call from this number today. Wasn't home so couldn't pick up the phone, they obviously didn't leave a message. Was surprised to be getting a call from the United States as I am in The Netherlands!

Just received a phone call from this number.  No one answered when I said hello.  I hung up after that.

didnt answer as i have had calls from this number before and wouldnt let them do anything with my pc.

I like the others received a call.  Same ID: Pay Phone.  Same scenario.  Virus and Computer problems.  Wanted me to go to website.  I told him I'd check on it first.  I asked what I'm running,  I told him several OS's.  He stated he was blacklisting my PC.  I asked him when so I could call the REAL microsoft and find out why.

Told them to call back Saturday... can't wait.... I will play them like you cannot believe!!! I even think I will sing them a song when they call or put them on hold... not sure yet!! any ideas???
