called left no message  Why Call?

I have recieved similar calls from 217-557-6640, 557-6639, and 6644 all between 9am - 12:54pm today.

Call from IL ST OF 217-557-6640 called back no answering service. I thought that would be Secretary of State office calling.

I finally answered this call.  This pesty number is from the IL Dept of Revenue.  It's just a recording so don't be afraiid to answer.  It's best to clear that matter up quickly even if you owe money & can't afford to pay.  If you can't afford to pay, make a deal with them.  If you at least explain your situation, a lot of times the amount can be reduced.  However, it will never go away so be brave & deal with it.

I received 27 phone calls today from this effing number.. well this number and series of numbers close to this (last 2 digits are different). I'M SICK OF IT!!!!

i am getting calls for a month from 1-217-557-6639, 6641, 6646, 6643, 6648, 6649 and never leaves any message. i called few of these numbers at night, it never connects & during day time it rings 2 times and says your call cannot be completed at this time. wonder who these calls are from.

I believe that who ever supports this number and says it's from IRS is just another delinquent as well . This is a SCAM warning!!! This is not a real IRS agent... Please read this article. Again this is a scam, they will lie and try to take money from you!!!

All phone numbers that start with 217 557 66-- are part of a scam, they would call and pretend to be an agent from the IRS and try to take money from you.

This phone number keeps calling and it is a generic voice mail insisting you call to "The Dept" to talk to their "agent" to "Discuss this matter"  when you call the number back it is constantly a busy signal.....This is SCAM please beware!

Said they are IRS and I am to fax them all of my 1040 bc I have money coming back

For the last 2 days these people kept calling me my cell every 30 minutes - each call differs in the last 4 digits 217-55-6638, 217-557-6648, x6649, x6646 etc.  I have not answered and they do not leave a message.

Got a call from this number.  It is from the Illinois Dept of Revenue.  I did not answer but let it go to voice mail.  The recording referenced changes to tax filings, a letter that I should have received (which I actually did receive) and to go the the website for more details on the changes to business tax filing information.  This was actually all true information.

This number 217 557-6638 is being used by the Illinois department of Revenue now for contact with employees  as part of and emergency notification system.

Just because somebody says this number is "legitimate" or "real" or something similar, Their statements may NOT apply to the call you received!

I received several calls today from 217-557-66(49,48,46,etc).  I called the number back and just got a busy signal.  When I answered it said it was an important information about my Illinois taxes and it was important to clear the matter up quickly.  I don’t even live in Illinois.  This appears to be a scam.
