I answered call but noone aswered. Tried to call back number but it disconnects before it even rings.

217-557-6646.  Caller ID showed IL ST OF  they said nothing.  Then they called back rang one time and that is all.  Called the number back and was a fast busy

Same thing happened to me today. Called the # back and my phone stopped working.

Sounds like it's our TAX $$$ at work.  Being WASTED - what good is a robo dialer if it never connects to and person OR leaves an intelligible message!

I guess they call from different numbers. The one that is calling me 20 times a day uses this number 217-557-6639. They don't leave a message. I'm convinced that it's someone that pretends to be the Dept of Revenue. It's a Springfield IL number and their carriers are either Ameritech Illinois or Illinois Bell Tel Co.
If they keep calling then I'll just report it to the DNC.

Got a call, answered it and they gave me a completely different number to call back (847-294-4195). Said there was a problem with my taxes. IRS site says this: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Warns-of-Pervasive-Telephone-Scam

This stinks to high Heaven. I tried calling the actual IRS, as the site above suggests, and their automated crap made me want to rip my hair out. If this is a legitimate issue, maybe I'll receive something in the mail???
