I have received several calls with the same recording, saying something about a complaint with my name on it and to call a phone number, 888-508-3170, 884-986-3742 and one other that I deleted before writing it down. One call came from Florida, another from Illinoizz (I'm from there so I can call it that) and yet another from New York. To say it is a scam is the understatement of the week. We have a Cyber Crime Unit at our local Police Department, and they have been notified of these calls. I strongly suggest all of you do the same. In most cases, you do not need to know the company name to report them, just their phone numbers. I also suggest getting a good phone with an answering machine to screen calls, and the ability to block these calls.

I have received 2 calls from this number. I answered this call and the caller was very rude, speaking with a raised voice, repeatedly refusing to give me any info on who his company is or who he is claiming his company represents. He wanted me to confirm a SSN that he read off, and when I interrupted him to say I would not confirm any SSN he yelled "We'll see you in court!" and hung up on me.

One confirmed call source is from Springfield Illinois. If you do not recognize any phone number or caller do not answer call. Allow the phone to ring or the call to go to a recording source for record. Never, ever give anyone personal information eg. SSN, bank information, address, or name (s). There is a scam attempting to extort money from individuals using several different tactics. Genuine sources will contact you via mail in writing not via telephone only.

keeps calling, leaves no message, says vet support fund

I just received that call as well but didn't answer. My mailbox is full so even if they wanted to leave a message couldn't. Planning on dropping house phone -only scammers call that # anymore.

A recorded message (poorly read) from some veterans group telling me I would be receiving a letter asking for donations.

2nd call today from this number although there was no name listed as caller on first call - Unknown caller - Didn't pick up the call and they stopped ringing after about 6 rings. Supposedly non profit but they don't have a good rating for helping vets.

Called twice yesterday, 3 times today. Didn't answer but this is seriously getting annoying

Called  @ 8:40pm.  No message; number blocked.  Tired of these scam calls!!

Has called 4 times today - no message

They called my mother's phone and asked for me. Wasn't very friendly and hung up on her.

A man who didn't identify himself asked to speak to the lady of the house.  When I said she wasn't home, he said he'd call back.  I again asked who he was and he hug up.

Keeps calling elderly Mom's number

Received the call this morning at 9:18 AM.  Did not recognize the number or the caller, so did not answer.  No message.  Came here and saw others have received calls from this number so left my information

This call said Vet Support Fund.  My idiot but Adorable son was napping and waiting for a friend to call to pick him up for work so answered the phone half asleep tho we never normally would.  The caller gave a little spiel about donating to veterans while Son immediately siad no no no thank you nooooooo no.  Caller was as wound up as a cheap watch and talked right over him saying hed give him to one of their operators and he could decide if he wanted to donate $30 or $80.   Son finally woke up and hung up.

Just called here.  Our blocking system hung up on them after first ring.
We blocked all calls coming from area code 217, so don't know
which particular scammer this is.

Keep getting calls from a charity called the Vet Support Fund. The same guy keeps calling and asking for my husband by name. When I ask him what he wanted he would say there was no message, or ask for the man of the house, or just hang up. One time he hung up on my husband when he asked why he won't talk to me.
