I cant tell you what they wanted but that phone number is from a conference calling company

so whatdid they want

I am about to do a job interview over the phone and this is the exact number they gave me to call for the interview.I'm not sure if it's a scam or not yet, but we'll see.

I replied to a post in Craig's List for a telecommute position and I got a reply back within 2 minutes telling me to call this number. According to the email, the company is called GDI. I googled the company and I think this is a scam. DON'T CALL!

now here is where it gets interesting.  sanrio does not use hellokitty.com as an email address, they use sanrio.com.  i am waiting for a response from sanrio to confirm, and i am also waiting to see if the email i sent to courtneymae@hellokitty.com bounces back.  i called the 218 number (which is a MN area code) and received a generic mssg to enter the authorization code.  my memory may be foggy, but the ones i have participated in on the past usually announce the company providing the conference call service.  i did not enter the code out of caution.

furthermore, do a google search for "548574 access code"
notice anything?

This company works! They are making me great money. They always pay on time. I called this number and they answered all of my questions and helped train me and get me started. I am earning a full time income with them now. This company is a inc 500 company. They are legit!

I made the call. It is hiring for GDI, which means Global Domain something-or-other. They say they own the new web domain .ws, which means web site (very simple, huh?), and they basically say that .com and .net are played out so new people are gonna get on .ws. The job they want to hire you for is to hire more people, which is funny. You take calls from people and try to sell their .ws [***], and if you get 5 people to buy in a week you get a bonus of $100. if not you get paid 10% of what you bring in with sales. Otherwise, they have you try and sell web domains, and if you don't sell them or aren't making enugh money off them, you have to pay to keep the domain running. This means that your job is to buy their service or get other people to buy it for you.

11/14/08  My husband was working with a group and the chairperson set up a conference call using this number.  It was legit for us.

Yeah, I think I'm on that call now. I just heard "independent contractor" for GDI. It's "all inbound calls". I hate the "absolutely free to you" pitches.

OHMYGOD... they already said, "posting ads like the one you just responded to". To be paid for the sign ups that get people to make this call and sign up with the system.

Yeah, it might work for some people, but I smell MLM.

Oh, my, god... there's some kind of $10/month fee associated with company. WTF???

I did call as well, but no one from GDI answered.  I was only speaking with others that joined the conference call.  We all agreed that it may be a scam and I hung up immediately.  Does anyone know if I will get ridiculous charges for this call and/or fees?  Can they obtain personal info from my home phone number? Please help.

THANK YOU for posting this info.  I sent out 10 resumes last week apparently to 10 different people who listed a similar add like this and ALL responded with the same phone number and access code, but different user names of course so they could get their cut.  In this economy it's sad that people like this want to waste our time when we're looking for real work, not some pyramid scheme BS.

One person out of how many think this is a decent company? Not exactly convincing. There is a big difference between Fortune 500 and Inc 500. They are listed with INC.Com and this is what I found (Notice nothing more recent than 6 years ago):

I am calling this number today because I am looking for work and not looking to spend money so I can work... I hope it is not a scam and will find out later this afternoon.

This phone number is for a conference call service. Our company uses it when we want to conference call several people on the same line. It allows multiple callers to call in and participate on the same call. So you may have been requested to call this number and enter your code and when you enter it will tell you how many other callers are already waiting on your call.
