Called asking about a problem with my computer

Called at 9:30 on Sunday night after I refused a caller claiming I had a computer problem an hour before! Different number but MN number.

called at 9:59 PM waking us-foreign accent, something about Windows issue

A man with an foreign accent called about technical problems and viruses detected on my Windows operating system. When I asked, he said he was calling from London. He gave me the following to type onto one of the pages he had me open:
IEXPLORE www.ANYDESK.COM
That's when I told him I don't have a Windows operating system. I'm a Mac user. I asking him why he was doing this to people and how could he live with himself. He hung up. This is the fourth call I've received on this same subject in the past week. The phone numbers are never the same, but the subject of the call is.

Called at ten PM on a sunday ,no message ... Come on who calls at ten at night on a Sunday but an idiot...

must have tried you right after I yelled at them for waking up my house!

Called at 10:22.  Let it go to answering machine but left no message.  Calls at this time of night should only be from people one knows for Pete's sake!

WTF a lady with foreing accent woke me up asking for the "owner of the computer"!!

Also received a call stating that my computer reported a virus.  Funny thing is I work in IT and know how to handle my PCs.  Don't answer, or if you do, just say "Please take me off your call list"...  Just a junk caller...

I said "Hello"
No response.
Hung up.

Twice withing the space of a half hour from different numbers.  Frustrating!!

caller ID reads wireless caller;  they call for the last week at least 2 times a day, and when the answering machine answers only noise is heard no one talks.    when I answer  no one talks,  and no noise heard at all.   after 30 seconds today finally got busy signal.

Called twice today, when I answered, the caller was muted: just silence.  Called back right after and got a message from Verizon Wireless that said: "(...) the call could not be completed as dialed."

I was out when the call came in from this number, but I can see from the comments it's the same bunch of scammers who have harassed me using Michigan and New York City number. They have called after 9 p.m. numerous times. Telemarketers are by law only allowed to call between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. I am on the Do Not Call Registry and get no telemarketing calls other than from these scammers. I knew instantly they were scammers because I don't have any Windows computers. I use Linux.

If you are not on the Do Not Call Registry at donotcall.gov, get on it and report every one of these scam calls. They are trying to find people dumb enough to believe them and spend anywhere from $179 to $300 on supposed anti-virus software which does not work.

DO NOT, under any circumstances, allow them remote access to your computer. They can seriously mess with it if they get ticked off at you, or just because they can. I have read of cases where this has happened.

Also, if they start harassing you with multiple calls, remind them that their employer records calls and will probably fire people making calls that aren't going to make them any money. I used to work in customer service for several major cell phone providers. They really do monitor calls.

The guy has called me multiple times. Foreign accent. Told me he was with Microsoft and that we have a virus problem. I asked him if a Service ticket had been issued and he said yes. He asked me if I was near a computer and I told him yes. He then asked me to hit the Microsoft key and I told him I did not have one. I told him I was in the data center of a large corporation running Unix on IBM servers and the keyboards do not have windows buttons. He hung up.  I'm pretty sure its a scam by the way.

This is one of those super annoying calls from someone who calls every phone in the house at the same time but then is not there when you pick up the phone. I don't know why i even bother to answer. My advice: don't answer.

This number called me yesterday, said his name was David, I kept him on the phone for 10 mins or more asking him what he really wanted cause I was using a work laptop and since he was not at my work IT dept, he must want something else.  In the end he said he wanted to talk to my mother so he could F her...so uh yeah, don't answer this number, bunch of scum bags that just are scamming.

This guy keeps calling my house heavy accent says there's a problem with my computer I have told him several times I'm not interested he keeps calling from different numbers I have threatened him to report him he just speaks over me he just called me 7:30 am on a Friday seriously why do these people do this its disgusting its harassing people I hope he stops I've memorized some of the numbers where he calls from but then he starts calling from new one it's such a shame people need to deal with this
