I was polite to the person on the phone and I just asked them to stop calling .His response was ( [***] ),then he hung up. I'm on the do not call list and they still call me almost every day.

Another CARD SERVICES SCAM. This is the 580th call attempt from this scam in the past 2 years. Block one number then they just spoof another. A blocked number results in 2 to 10 attempts in a 60 second period. Many times I've reported this scam to the National Do Not Call Registry but they are useless.

That's because the NDNC does not handle scammers, crooks and other criminals. That is the job of law enforcement agencies.  The DNC only administers to FTC Registered American businesses who use telephone calling as a sales tool and are required to purchase and honor the DNC list.  No one else and nothing more.

SCAMMERS:  Using another phone number to try to SCAM people.

They won't leave a message but I have gotten this number before regarding credit cards.

got a call on my cell from this #. area code is Chicago. getting a lot of unwanted cell phone calls lately. :(

WARNING--BEWARE!! These callers are   B I G   credit card criminals, known as the card service scammers! Under NO circumstances, give these lowlifes your credit card number, or you will regret it forever!

First call from this number today. Call yesterday from 347-443-7829 and a few days ago f rom 386-256-9079 (which turns out to be another scammer). Just put it on auto reject with all the rest. Only way I know they call is if I look at my phone log or they leave a message. Call today left a one word message-- said-- today and ended the call.

Same here. I get several phone calls on my landline every day, and now they are calling my cell phone. Most of the time the caller ID is blocked, today this particular area code from Indiana was not so I blocked it on my cell phone. These people are so nasty. I have waited to talk to their agent, and they say they will remove me, and they never do, or they are just rude and hang up on me. Nasty people. I wish they would stop calling me. I have gone to screening all my calls on my landline. It's very  inconvenient.

The card service scammers   WILL   'service' our credit cards,   BUT,   when they finish 'servicing' them, they will have NO available credit remaining! People that are fooled into having their cards 'serviced' will be charged a MINIMUM of $795.00, and many times the ENTIRE amount remaining on the card. The card service scammers are a disgusting group of degenerates, who prey mainly on the low income, and the elderly, but will cheat anyone that they can!

What can be done about these calls if the national do not call list doesn't cover them?  Call law enforcement? Please... someone come up with a better idea.

Yes. Scammers such as the credit card people are criminals.  Like any other criminal,  report to   law enforcement. Links are available thru Google and on this site for reporting.  As a note,  when you report to the DNC they do pass on to other agencies if it is not their responsibility. However so many invalid reports are filed with them, if redundant,  some may be flushed.  Never hurts to report to the DNC but don't hold them accountable for complaints out of their jurisdiction as so many mistakenly do.

Same scum, different Spoofed number - 219-212-2276 Caller ID "Info Survey" - Typical scum bag human sewage scam call... Augmented a "big red button" call blocker with a Sentry Ver 2.2 Call Blocker over a month ago - the Sentry is the newest form and has better tech than the old reliable CPR Big Red Button Ver2 Blocker that's been in service since late June '14.  The Sentry blocks ALL the incoming trash that's hit it so far, if it maintains the length of service the CPR has demonstrated it is the better unit to have...  Having both does have a few nice effects - the CPR keeps a running total on what number has called how may times - current "winner" is 43 calls blocked from the same number.  The CPR also shows some of the bogus crap the screw heads try to use to sneak past blockers

The jackturds that do this crap keep changing the spoofed number and trying tricky crap in the dialing string to get past the blockers but it doesn't work ;> The Sentry Blocker just plain dumps their call to the crap pile...

It is great to have the turds get shunted straight to the SCREW U bucket with the Blockers doing their thing :>

Tempting as it might be, it's best to NEVER answer these turd's calls and engage them - it only puts your number on the auto dialer's "call more" list since it confirms the auto dialed number used is a "live number" with a possible sucker on the end...  They could not give a crap less if you ask to be "Taken off the list...."

A "no one there" call is often as not what I interpret as a "probe" call just to see if there is a pickup or answering machine worth calling back.  It's mostly all automated so the scum just act as drones waiting for a pickup and possibly a voice - I still get lots of the one time "probe" type calls followed with a few that are repeat call numbers for a few weeks then all the numbers and CIDs get changed to different ones to try for all new people they can try and defraud.

Too bad there is no listing in the "Call Type" that actually matches the real manner of the scum making the calls - there should be at least "Scammer" in the list....  Some where there may be an actual valid telemarketer making unwanted calls...and that's the only case that "telemarketer" really fits...

They hung up when I answered

Message - "This is your final notice," at least for a few days when we'll call you again.

Message says "this is your last chance to lower your rate... blah blah blah.  Call at least once a day for months now.  We are not home during the day and rarely answer the phone but the message is always on our answering machine.
