My caller ID picked up a call on 14 May 2008, 12:36 pm, claiming I was a finalist for a Lincoln Navigator. The woman said I was qualified to win that gas guzzling behemoth or three other, unidentified prizes, but only if I called the awards center. She stated I had entered a contest within the last 18 months. This was the tip-off for me -- I never enter contests (certainly not for an ugly vehicle like that). Probably a phone phishing scam trying to get credit card information or a "deposit" to hold the prize. Time to file a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry.

Mrs. Minton gave me a ring last week. I was at work when she left the messege. Of course I'm very hesitant on calling back such messeges. But being that I had been at a Pet Expo just a few weeks prior and my husband had filled out an entry at Home Depot. I figured the worse that could happen is my theroy would be correct and it would just be some kind of friendly sales lady on the other end of the line. I was actually mistaken. Mrs. Minton was charming, honest, and very "matter of fact" with her pitch. My Husband and I had indeed won one of four gifts, all we had to do was go to the grand opening and scratch off our "lottery style ticket". Thanks again Jill for the $2,500. These days with a family of 5 we should will put it to good use.

got same call 06/20/08. call back # was 800-606-6602. Left my name & home/cell #'s on her voice mail (now i wish i didn't even do that). it will be interesting to see if i get a call back.

The woman said I was qualified to win the navigator or three other, unidentified prizes, but only if I called the awards center. She stated I had entered a contest.  She promised this was NOT A SALES CALL.   I wont call back- Probably a phone phishing scam.  I am already on the "do not call list" but i still keep getting many calls such as this one.  The fact that other people have gotten the same call in 2008 and now me in 2009 smells fishy to me!

I was called by  j minton, national awards center. TOld me I may have won a mini cooper in a contest she claimed I entered 18 months ago....I never fill stuff like that out. The contest was being run by a group called Triton Travel, second place prize was a trip for two to either Orlando or Vegas.....but she assured me this was not a time share scam. FInal prize was a comcorder. She said I would need to sit thru a 90 minute presentation before I would be given my scratch off card to see what I won.

Just got the same phone call--same script--and it's June 30, 2010. She could at least mix it up a little!

Same message, same number, same caller id name.  I didn't call back. I do not remember entering a contest

We got a call from this number yesterday (Aug 24, 2010).  Same person (Jillian) with same message about a prize.  She did mention my wife's name, so at least it wasn't a recorded promo message.  I have a feeling that they obtained our number from a recent on-line purchase my wife made in which she had to enter a phone number.  There was probably some small print during the process that explained how the number could be used/sold/etc, but who reads the fine print, right?  Anyway, not calling the 800 number she left thanks to the messages here and at similar sites I checked out.

Thanks for all the posts.  I was instantly suspicious when I rec'd a call today Aug 25, 2010.  The caller id showed a Jillian Minton with the same phone mentioned in all the posts.  I answered the phone and even though she mentioned my name I could tell it was a pre-recorded message telling me to call back the 800 number.  Needless to say, I won't be calling the 800 number back either.  Are they hitting up the whole state of Massachusetts?  My neighbor got the same call about two weeks ago.  Sounds like a scam to me.

Here it is Oct 2010 and same caller ID, same message, a callback # of 800-251-3919 .  I do sometimes enter drawings but this sounds too vague (sometime in the last 18m mos)  & canned to be authentic so I'm not going to bother calling back.Iam super skeptical of "Pleazed" ,several comments  above, who won $2500.

Just got J Minton's call this morning. Same message as above. We received the same type of call a few weeks ago (but I don't recall whether it was from J Minton or not).  Three times will be a charm if I get another call.  I'll be notifying my local police and giving the authorities a heads up in Hobart IN.

** this is a scam!! she says you "won" a prize, it's a lie!! the prize is for sitting thru a 90 minute travel sales presentation, it's all BS! the supposed free prizes are unredeemable! you absolutely can not redeem the free vacations they "give away" one of the "free" vacations requires a $500. fee to be paid to try to redeem it. And please be aware that although they say there are other prizes available they really only give away the NOT free vacations. Stay away from these people!

OK is 1-11-2011 in Medford, MA and we just got same caller ID and.....oh surprise: same message as the 1st post from 2008!!!!! This is a scam without imagination ;-)

Same garbage call on 2/11/11 @ 2:25 pm in Medford Mass. Going to drive down to North Carolina in my new car to THANK them !

We just got the same call on 2/25/11 - stating that we had won one of four prizes.  That we had entered our name in ANY sweepstakes contest from the last 18 months, so that is how we got entered into this one.  Totally random.  I get wary when they can't give you any specific details.

Glad to see that there was a trail located here and I will not be calling back.

This is why I have a caller id. So I don't waste my time on people (or telemarketers) I don't know. Thank God for people who share information in these blogs!

I  will blame on "Do Call Call List" company,  I don't know,if it part of  State.I try to get  "Do not call list!" ,but it don't work! Caller ID don't work,it away show up "Unknown Name."It funny I pay verizon for this service every months. ------------------------ Watch out! I got a 90 yrs old sick mother and I am unemployed who got it last unemployment check two week ago who trying to turn down the heat to save money! -----Boy it a little cold in this room. Now bring that car over here and PROOF IT!  Do this car have heat? I know mine don't.
