Gary Reeves, Artist in the Sky, LLC is a Spammer

Mr. Gary Reeves, or as I like to think of him, Gary, is a special case. I normally limit my spammer listings to people who spam me at work. I do this because it's a highly effective way of identifying spam; I'm extremely careful about who I give my work email address to. I don't use it for personal use, so a claim that I signed up for, say, concert information is implausible. But for Gary I'll make an exception.

Gary runs Artist in the Sky, LLC, an aerial photography company. A nice, local business. As noted above, Gary spammed my personal email address. I'd be prone to assume a reasonable accident and would have ignored it, until I looked closer at his spam.

Gary's first spam came from "Gary Reeves donotreply@aerialartistic.info" and listed the web site as "http://www.aerial-photo-pro.info". Right. Whatever. A bit odd that his email and web addresses are different.

Gary's second piece of spam came from "G. Reeves donotreply@aerialpixpro.info". Hmmm, he changed his email address. Well, that's okay. It happens. But what is his web site? "http://www.high-rez-aerial.info". Changing your web site is a bad, bad idea. Assuming you are a reputable business, it makes you harder to find and loses any good PageRank you've earned. But maybe Gary decided the cost of changing his web site was worth it. Still odd that his email address isn't at the same location, this would have been a good chance to unify them.

Then, his most recent spam. It's from "Gary Reeves donotreply@airborne-shots.info" and directs me to the web site "http://www.canon5DII-aerials.info". Sorry, Gary. We're beyond reasonable doubt now. You're getting blocked by spam filters because you're spamming. You're jumping domains because you're getting blocked by spam filters. But you keep spamming. At this point you are either willfully spamming, or are extremely stupid. Either way, Gary deserves public humiliation.

Maybe Gary takes great aerial photos. I have no idea. But I know he is a spammer.

Kudos to you for this very detailed and professional feedback. I am home based and received this call on the business line. Didn't answer because of caller ID and of course they didn't leave a message.

Great feedback.  It's always confusing when you arrive home to see a number on the caller id, and no message on the recorder.  In Gary's case, I thought maybe it was someone calling about work, the caller id shows "Artist in the..." that's all that shows.  Usually spammers are calling from unavailable numbers, or blocked lines all together.  It was very convenient to put this matter to rest in my mind by finding your f/b.

Nothing like this wonderful economy, and in the midst of operating a business, you've often got to sit and wonder, "should I pick up this call?" ... or worse, "did I miss an important call from a client?"  Just to find they are telemarketers.  Isn't there enough PR opportunity with the WWW?  Do these people really need to continue driving people mad?

Yeah  good old Gary the spamster if you happen to own a local bussiness like i do these guys want to fly over your bussiness and take ariel photos and sell them to you for an enormous price.Get in to modern times Gar thats what google earth is all about.On an up note I hear walmarts hireing in there photo lab the techno may a bit modern for ya but with a 16 yo dept. manager i'm sure you'll be up to date in no time at all. Dont call me I'll call you!

Better yet, of the 3 web sites listed above, the first two are dead or directed to a domain-for-sale and the last goes to a Chinese shoe website :P

rec'd my 219-992-9828 call from our friend Gary, rather. "artist in the sky"  today............you need to get a life pal...quit bothering hard working people and get a real job...do not call me again!!!

Gary Reeves, Artist in the Sky, LLC spammed me today with a PRERECORDED pitch about buying an photo from his stupid plane.  Thanks Gary, for waking up my Toddler during her nap.

Well, well, I too, received a call from 219-992-9828, which showed on Caller ID as Artist in the S.  No msg; I don't pick up unless I recognize the caller and do not leave my answering machine on any more, thanks to solicitors who ignore the Do Not Call Registry.

To be fair, several years ago I did have a local person come up to the front door with nice arials proofs which were already taken of my property & the neighborhood, which I bought one. Land developers must have paid for the assignment and the pilot's photographer was trying to make an additional profit.   But no one called in advance about taking them, and sometimes even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then.

Rcv'd cal on my CELL PHONE, not the bus. line.  No message, no caller id on this one.

I received a call Tuesday from a scammer. It was the same number with a plus in front of it (+2199929828) It was an Indian or Pakistani female voice that spoke with such a dialect I could barely understand her. She said she was representing the yellow pages and wanted to confirm my advertising. I though it was Verizon YP. I answerd her questions and asked the cost. She replied that it was free. She turned me over to a verifier who also spoke English so bad I barely understood him. After ten minutes of repeating the questions until I understood him, we finally finished. I asked the cost again and he said $39.95. I then realized it was a scam, told him to go to Hell, and hung up. I got another call this morning but the phone only rang twice and they hung up.

I too run a home based business and I am tried of people like this Gary guy calling and the number does
show up Artist in the something.  You get tired of having to screen you own phone calls and lose you
valuable clients due to such an idiot.  Gary do yourself a favor and find a real job.

I love it when they don't leave messages and I google the number. I rarely answer calls from unknown numbers, if it's important and really a legtimate place/person they'll leave a message. Costs me nothing. I just can't understand why so many keep trying. You have to wonder what is wrong with these people, were they dropped on their heads as kids ALOT or what?

I GET THIS CALL AT LEASE THREE TIMES A DAY ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHING MY WAREHOUSE FOR PUBLICATIONS PURPOSES. FIRST OF ALL, I AM IN A 100,000SQFT FACILITY AND NO ONE WOULD EVER BE ABLE TO FIND MY SHOP IN A PHOTO. We need to get regulations to stop this practise.
