I have tmobile as well. And in response to the comment about them getting #'s from Monster.com: I'm currently relocating and looking for a new job out of state, so my telephone number is available on several job-seeking website, so that would make sense. I haven't answered, no message has been left. I'm going to continue to ignore.
Just got one...this is the 3rd time since Friday...I too have a resume on Monster, but the number I'm getting these calls on is not on my resume...Since I haven't answered any of the calls, it's hard to say how bad the caller's english is :)
I just got a call from this number a few minutes ago. They were calling about a career fair (thick accent on the female voice), said they got my number off of Monster. I just hung up on her.
I just got a call from this number. It HAS TO BE from Monster as that is the only place I have ever used this particular phone number. I didn't answer - never do if I don't even know the area code.
Received a call from this number earlier this afternoon. I answered. There was silence for the first little while, and approximately on the fourth "Hello!?" a foreign male voice asked for me by name (horribly mis-pronounced, though) There was a lot of static so I hung up. So far, no call-backs, but who knows what will happen tomorrow? I had my resume posted on Monster and CareerBuilder about one year ago, but have not done anything with it since. I have T-Mobile as my carrier.
223 is the country for the Mali Republic in Africa. The number first showed up on my caller ID log the other day when I wasn't home. Today about 5 p.m. I answered it -- a foreign sounding guy, pretty difficult to understand saying he saw my resume on Monster and it looks wonderful. The some chatter about a job fair, but he wouldn't list specific companies. When I said I couldn't understand him very well -- click. At best, it's outsourced offshore by Monster but I doubt it. At worst it's a scam where they try to get you to pay to register to attend the job fair, or perhaps is a reverse-call scam where if you even answer you get billed for an international call. I will check my AT&T bill. Should you delete your Monster.com resume? At least delete the phone number if it keeps happening. The reality anyway is the response rate leading to phone or in-person interviews is pitifully low -- maybe 2-4% so searching via the job boards and ResumeRabbit type services is equally futile resulting in a lot of e-mails to sell life insurance or other commission-only cold calling... no thanks!
Interesting, after seeing Ohio call on caller ID, but reading the above and going on Fone Finder and Kropla, it reads Mali Republic. Anybody know how this works? How could "Ohio call" surface?
rcvd a call about 1/2 hr ago, didn't have the phone w/caller ID with me (landline) I answered the phone but when I didn't get a response immediately I hung up, I then checked the caller ID & Googled the #. Another site mentions an international rate charge, however I am not so sure that you can be charged for an incoming call like that. None the less, I intend to check with Verizon (my carrier) just to make sure.
i have been getting several calls a day, sometimes within minutes of each other. i refuse to pick up and no vms are left. i have cingular/att service. it just started recently.
Have gotten three calls in last 2 days and no message left. Resume on Monster who are a bunch of w***es!!!! As soon as I posted my resume, I started getting junk mail to the point where my inbox is now jammed on a regular basis with dating services and loan offers. Pulling my resume and will no longer use Monster.
i have been getting it two the past two days 3 calls. i am on monster too. I picked up once about 2 months ago and it was about some job fair but when i asked where they couldn't tell me where. I wonder what is going on
this is slightly out of control- my rule, even w/ friends, is no message no call back. so this clown hasn't gotten called back but 3 calls in 30 hrs is annoying. I've read a lot about ya'll being on Monster. I am not on monster. my phone is a work mobile, that would seem wrong. They could be pooling numbers from elsewhere
