11:01 am call, June 7, 2007, no message left.

Have found this number on the ID many times with no message left.  Happened to be at home to answer when they called again.  They claim to be seeking donations for a police officer association.  According to family members that are in law enforcement, the association DOES NOT seek donations in this manner.

received this call on my business line, 6/7/07 around 12:30 pm.  I answered but got no response and caller/call hung up or terminated. tried to return call later, phone just rings at length and terminates.

I've received calls from this number for months, and it says Statewide also. Post Katrina there are all sorts of scams, but these happened before the storm too! I just hooked up a device called 'PrivacyCall Center', and it's great. I don't work for them, but check out their website:
http://www.digitone.com/ because it'll block all calls and let thru the ones you want. I found it while researching another repetitive caller.

225-236-3026 ... No name. No message. No one to pick up the phone in case of a call-back. If you receive a call from someone claiming to work  for the police,it should be called in TO the Police. I'm sure they would want to find out who's trying to dip into their caddy. I'm in Louisiana and the name and number for a caller seeking donations from people for a Police Association is usually  THE FRATERNAL ORDER of POLICE (F.O.P.)  Their number is 318 - 487 - 4470.

I just received a call from the number. They wouldnt speak, I called back and got a busy signal. My first instinct is to run the number through the computer. I found nothing. Its very annoying to get these kind of calls 6,000,000 times in a day lol.

You guys have no idea.  i work for PAI...public appeal inc.  We do fund raising for the Louisiana Union of Police Associations, and the American Association of State Troopers.     THE MOST IDIOTIC THING SAID HERE TODAY IS THAT THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE IS THE ONLY REAL ORGANIZATION........a little peice of information for you guys...the F.O.P. (fraternal order) is a NATIONAL ORGANIZATION....it is a company just like the one i work at....EXCEPT the FOP is all accross the nation....they are set up within each state.  The money you give to them does not stay in louisiana.  it leaves the state.  And the guys who call you from the FOP are just everday nobobody's like me and my company--b/c here in louisiana NO police officers call you personally to raise money...because of intimidation.  THE LOUISIANA UNION OF POLICE ASSOCIATIONS is headquartered behind the governors mansion....1332 lake ridge dr.  ----------the money we raise STAYS in LOUISIANA-- a little peice of INFO for all you guys talking about things you HAVE no IDEA about!!----and if PAI calls you and no one is there...there is a problem with the computer dialer we use sometime.............oh well!  
Ask your self this: do you want to give to a national fundraiser (FOP) that helps police all over the country?? or to a statewide organization that keeps its money within the state--to help LOUISIANA only!!!!  FIND FACTS BEFORE YOU MAKE AN ASS OUT OF YOURSELF...JAN AND TERRI........JAN YOUR FAMILY DOESNT KNOW ANYTHING!!!! You sound like a scammer defending his own scam. Where does the money go? How much money is spent on idiots like you making the calls? You are no doubt a scam scam scam, we all know it and there is nothing you can do about it. You are a scammer, always were a scammer, and will always be a scammer. If P.A.I. is raising money to keep in your state (Louisianna) then why are they calling FLORIDA supposedly representing the Florida State Troopers.  I too have family in law enforcement and have been told that they do not solicit money through telephone solicitations.  So since you're calling my Uncles and my Cousins who are Florida State Troopers Liars please tell me how exactly does your company "help" law enforcement agencies/officers?

P.A.I is located on Essen Lane in Baton Rouge. Their direct # is 225-761-7215. I called and spoke with the supervisor who was advised that we are on the do not call registry. He asked if we have ever supported to them to which I replied that we have military, fire depts, police depts and even search and rescue canine teams in our family. Support is on-going and given personally to those in need. Then I asked that our # be removed from their data base and he said it would be. He was very polite and helpful (sorry, don't remember his name). But I am certain if you call and ask that your # be removed they will do so.
And a note to "Bob" who says he works for P.A.I.: The folks who commented may not know what they are talking about but your insults certainly will not help you woo them or keep them as supporters. I can only hope your job description doesn't include the phone solicitation end.

According to the Louisiana Secretary of State's Corporation's Database, "Public Appeal, Inc." is considered NOT IN GOOD STANDING for having failed to file any annual reports since 2004 as mandated by law.  The person listed as agent and officer of the organization is a James P. McNamara, 1427 Harmony Street, New Orleans, Louisiana. He apparently also is involved in corporate filings for numerous other entitities.

I just received their pledge packet from an Alexandria, LA address. 1-225-236-3026 is a Baton Rouge, LA number.  The letter also states that L.U.P.A. is a non-profit organization and your contribution is NOT tax-deductible as a charitable contribution.......
