It's a spoofed robo call.  No message, just dead air and then an automated voice saying goodbye.  Reported this number to the FCC.  I suggest anyone else getting a call from this number do likewise.

I actually called the number after looking for information online.  It's a disconnected number.

just received the call from 225-861-5518 and like the others, no response after saying hello.  Tried to call it back and got message the 'call cannot be comleted as dialed', however I didn't dial, I just hit redial to the number. I've reported it to FCC via email.

Same. Keep getting calls when I answer, they hang up.

Received a call from this number twice.  The first time it was the same as everyone else is reporting.  The second time there was a pause and it was someone supposedly from a home security company soliciting sales.  Something didn't seem right about the call. I called the number back and it was a disconnected number.

same thing here. silence then a beap and recorded "goodbye". almost sounded like they were recording me. tried to call back and says my call cannot be completed as dialed

received a call from this number a mean on the other line asked if we wanted a security system put in and that they could access from their phone and servalance. We looked it up and many sites said it was not recognized. but another said it was a caller in Louisiana.

Called Police and FCC - this is why you should be a where of ID Theft - this is a way hackers get into your network if your home phone and modem are someway connected!

The recently made posts, I assume, come from Louisiana---likely a specific region / location of the state.

This clearly means one thing: A well funded travelling team of scam specialists and / or burglars are "casing" neighborhood areas via phone. If this number calls you, it's safely logical to assume these crooks KNOW where you live---and likely have driven by your home, likely late at night.

DO NOT answer calls made from ANY out of distantly local and/or out of state number you don't recognize; if they don't leave live or recorded messages on answering machines, then it's safe to assume they're phone crooks....or crooks like those calling THIS number.

If you see drive by traffic of a suspicious nature around your neighborhood, note the vehicle and/or license plate number: This info can help police greatly.

IF THIS number contacts your phone---notify local law enforcement and sheriffs office.  Maybe enough people getting these calls will prompt law enforcement to seek Homeland Security and/or FBI help---people who DO have some clever crook location high-tech toys.

What I do---and it works well for me---is I NEVER answer long distant or out of state numbers. If they don't leave messages on my answering machine, then they're scam crooks I'd rather not speak to.

But THIS number, after reading recent posts here, concerns me: I suspect these guys are travelling crooks and likely are well funded---and they may know where I live.  Me and my neighbors have reported to police, seeing recent unfamiliar and very suspicious late night drive-by traffic; they too also are getting calls from this number.

IF you get calls from THIS number----DO NOT ANSWER THEM: Contact local police and/or sheriff's office about these calls....and keep an eye out around your neighborhood.  Let police know IF you see any suspicious drive by traffic.
