This number 1-226-289-1370 has called my house a couple of times today.  The phone just rang and rang and rang.  I don't answer for numbers that look suspect or ones that I don't recognize especially if a name doesn't come up with call display.  If you can't display your name or the name of your company, you don't deserve a reply.

I've had calls from every debt [***] since I became disabled in 2006.  My mobile is my home number and I've used smartphone software to block them all for several years now.  Not even sure why they still bother with legally non-collectable debts but they do, software logs all attempts, and every once in awhile one tries a new way to bypass my blocks.  Today this one used the country code to get as far as a manual rejection.  If it helps anyone they called from +112262891730.  Also, for those of you who owe no debts and can prove it (and though not fair a payment lost by a debtor can cause you trouble they force you to fix, or pay a lawyer call and fix for you) do a search for the laws and regulations that these companies are supposed to obey in your province (assuming Canada).  And I note supposed to because unless you complain to the appropriate agency they all regularly ignore them.  And for those who have complained and been advised your number has been removed from the dialer or wheel, do be patient as it can take several days for the actual removal to occur and if you call them back to complain a day later the calls get worse.  Those working these jobs are low lifes who can be spiteful -while hiding behind phones and secure office doors- to you even if you've never been a day late with a payment in your life.

got a call on my telus cell phone this morning. just dead air.

Just got a Call to my cell phone, dead air. On do not call list!!! Guess these never work
Have no debt concerns too, how do these numbers get out!!!

Did a little more digging, unsure if debt collector as dead air with me.
searching 1-226-289-1730 Comes as Fibernetic Corporation-ON as telephone Co., and noted that it is a Land line from the Middlesex area.
Best never try me again!!!

If you dial 9 during the message they will take you off their call list. It is an agency who wants to take over your 'bad debt' assuming you have any! and they want to manage your finances (!!!) They dont actually answer the phone - its a recording---- once again these a@@ holes hide behind a machine - if their product is so damned good why dont they tell you exactly who they are and be proud to announce themselves - another fraud society scum wader. If you do answer dial 9 , best bet is not to anwser

I would like to know how these callers are bypassing the call answer feature.  Normal calls will go to voice mail but not these ones, the phone just rings and rings and rings.

While this number is part of a Fibernetics NPA-NXX, Fibernetics is a phone company and has hundreds of thousands of numbers across Canada. Just like Bell would not block a number from calling you on your Telus phone neither will Fibernetics as they are a common carrier and, by law, not allowed to do things like that. Like Bell Canada, Fibernetics can investigate when you give them the number and times of calls and potentially terminate a customer found to be engaging in illegal activities or violating service contract terms.

However, if you have unpaid debts, a collections company calling you is not illegal and therefore is not something any phone company would legally be able to block from calling you. You will have to get the information of the collections agency calling you and go complain to relevant federal authority
