Received card giving away laptop / notebook with Microsoft software.  Call within 48 hours and receive $50 HotelCardPLUS.com Cash card.  Other number to call is 228-238-2230.  228-233-8090 number was on a vacation card that I saw in anothe post about phone number 1-888-299-6003.
I did not call. I am sure they want me to pay taxes, software license fee, shipping fee, software installation fee, etc. etc. etc.

This was the number to call on a card we received in the mail saying we had won a laptop computer and a voucher worth $300.  Had "Microsoft," "Walmart" and "Target" splashed in large letters.  Fine print said they had no connection with Microsoft, nor with Walmart, nor with Target.  We had to call within 48 hours to claim, etc.
Reverse number lookup said the number did not exist.  Google search led me here.

My mom got the same card in the mail today. She wants me to call if I trust it... Has anyone ever actually gotten a "free" laptop/notebook from these things??

Got the card today. Same deal as above.  Laptop/notebook and $300. Walmart, Target and Microsoft names splashed all over the card. If it quacks like a duck etc.  My card is going in the recycle bin.  At least there it will do some good.

This is a time share promotion.  I recently went to one in Biloxi(where this number is) & they were giving away a free 5 day cruise.  The catch was the "fees" (supposedly taxes, port charges, etc) paid to the travel agency that handled the booking were higher than entire cruise would be if I booked directly with cruise line!  So I am assuming that "fees" on this laptop would be more that cost of the lapbtop also!!!

I got the same promotion.....glad to know what it is.  Have called it out of curiousity (knowing full well that it is a gimic) but there was never an answer.  I actually got my "final notice" to call yesterday.  Sure I know why they don't answer....although I live in their area, I never changed our phone area code from an out of state code.  Guess they don't want to talk to folks from Tennessee!!!!

Same thing as the others. Thank goodness some people take the time to warn others. SCAMmers!!!!!!

Got this notification today, glad I did the look up.....I have also received a charge (not related to this) on my credit card for Yahoo *Mail which my bank has said is fraud and have started a claim, guess it is a relatively new fraud case, also had charge from match.com that I have never visited before. Go figure.

Received a notice that I had won a new laptop computer with Microsoft Softward and a $300.00 Merchandise voucher.  Glad I read all the posts before responding.

In fine print on the back it states: This promotion is not sponsored by or affiliated with WalMart, Target or Microsoft, but they are major suppliers.

On the same day, I received a post card which had official looking Carnival Cruise Lines logos.

The offer was as such: In celebration of our Anniversary in your area, you have been selected to receive a Complimentary 7 Day Cruise for 2 with inside or outside cabin, leaving from any major port in the U.S.

In fine print on the back of the card it states: This promotion is not sponsored by or affiliated with Carnival Cruise Lines, but they are major suppliers.

Notice the wording in fine print is the same..

Just like the other responses above, I received a notice in the mail offering a complimentary laptop computer with microsoft software. Claims to have a $300 voucher for pickup. It's funny how this is my final notice when it's my ONLY notice. This has scam written all over it. Mine was obviously a scam because of the workmanship of the letter itself. Mine looks like someone made it on their home computer. Thiss is just a bunch of bull shiggity, trying to get your information. No I didn't call.

Received FINAL NOTICE (small print) Verification of Reservation Information Required, followed by Registered Trade Marked MICROSOFT words Presorted First Class Mail U.S. Postage Paid West Palm Beach FL Permit No 3950 Card saying I was awarded a New Laptop/Notebook Computer Complete with new Microsoft Software, and if I call 1-228-223-8089 within 48 hours I could receive $300 toward merchandise at Wal-Mart or Target with a Tracking number.  Hours to call M-W 10am-8pm.

Glad to know this is a Time share - scam, and I didn't make any calls.  228 is a Mississippi Area Code, and the Postage is Paid in West Palm Beach FL?  Glad to look up the info before and reading prior postings about this. Also the insert says sample, not redeemable for cash.

I live in Biloxi,Ms. This is a real scam. Free laptop, my Ass!
