    Came home from vacation and got the message claiming they were the IRS from the same #. The IRS would never call and leave a message like that on an answering machine and also, would only contact someone by mail.

    on my answering machine was a message from this number stating IRS was suing me!

    Its a scam.  The IRS does not call.  The scammer is trying to get you to pay a bill you don't owe.  You can safely ignore it.
