Called my home several times. No one on the other line. When I called the # I was told you have reached a # that has been disconnectid or is no longer in use.

I picked up the line, sat there, didn't say hello or make any noise. Took about 6 or so seconds before a live person said the needed to speak to me- by name.  They wanted to do a political survey.  I promptly told him nope and hung up.  I am on the Political Do Not Call List.  To me that includes these-typically- bogus surveys. I had noticed them on the caller id from about 4 hours earlier, too.  They are not doing random very well if they called me back- just my opinion.

They have called me 8xs with an id of a research center
when I called back it just rang then I got concerned that
By calling back they might access private information
so I stopped answering the phone
