Art Institute of Chicago callingn to solicit a membership.

Keeps callings in the morning, afternoon, evening - very insistent but never leaves a message.  Will never pick up an unknown caller, particularly from a place in Michigan that is unrecognizable.  This person calls even on weekends and at dinner time.  We assume it's telemarketer and you can bet your bottom dollar that we will avoid answering these pesky calls.

I have thus counted 10 calls from this number and will be soon reporting the number to law enforcement or FTC authorities if it does not stop.  I am not going to pick-up and answer a random number that is coming from who knows where.  Does anyone else have this issue?

In my case the calls were from the Art Institute of Chicago calling to ask if I'd like to renew my membership.  I missed the first call.  No message was left.  I answered the second call and a nice operator took the necessary information for my renewal.  

"People Like Us"?  Look it up.

I keep getting this number, but I do not answer so I have no clue who it is.

I've had 5 missed calls from 231 732-2085 since Thursday last week.  I understand it's the Art Institute of Chicago wanting to renew my membership - I've already done that and they're still calling?  I can't file a complaint because I've done business with them in the last 18 months - the Do Not Call register is next to useless in some cases.

I'm originally from Michigan where this 231 area code is from, and I now live in Chicago where the code is 312. My girlfriend was a member of the art institute and started receiving calls from this number, they have been relentlessly calling day and night. When she answered, they asked for her to renew over the phone with her credit card info. I feel its a scam because why would the art institute call you from grant Michigan to renew over the phone and be so pushy? It's also too convenient that the area codes are very similar to one another and to someone not paying full attention could easily confuse one for the other.

If it weren't for my girlfriend recognizing the Michigan area code which is the same as my number, we might not have caught on. Use common sense with this one and contact the art institute yourself to renew or to even inform them to what's going on, give them the number you are being called from because they might not be aware of this suspicious activity.

My mom is a member and she gets these calls 2 to 3 times a day. She never answers and they never leave a message. As we live in Chicago, she can renew her membership when she goes to the Art Institute. I would bet the memberships the TMs are selling cost more than getting it at the museum as they have to pay a phone bill among other things.
Oh! THIS JUST IN... as I am typing this, she just got a call from FIELD MUSEUM (per caller ID) with the number 231-732-20xx (she erased the entry before I could get the complete number). She is a member there as well. Obvoiusly it's the same bunch of idiots doing the same thing over and over again each time expecting a different result.

I called the number back & left a voicemail requesting to be removed from their list. The message says my number will be removed within 24 hours.

Law enforcement ?  What a joke.

A.I.? My experience is the A.I. uses this agency(?) with the Michigan number to hound non renewing members.  At that point one must assume the agency gets a cut.

This number called me today 3 times in one hour. Unbelievable. No message... I'm guessing it's the Art Institute of Chicago because I've had calls from Michigan area codes for the Art Institute before.

This is a Call Center in Michigan. They called to ask us to contact Member Services for the Art Institute of Chicago. The Call Center and Art Institute of Chicago are two separate entities.

After I asked twice, the caller, Alicia Coleman, finally acknowledged that she was, indeed, at a call center. The caller ID shows: 231-732-2085, which is Michigan. But when I asked her for a call-back number, she gave me: 312-629-6587, Chicago, which is on the legitimate AIC website.

Looks like AIC wants to beef up their membership revenue and they are using a Call Center to do achieve this.

They've been calling me at least once a day for the past 2-3 weeks. Every time I ask them to remove my number from their list and then they hang up on me.

Answer, with extreme and relentless vulgarity, until they hang up. It is quite cathartic. Works very well with collection agencies as well. Believe it or not some collection agency employees actually take pride in their job and this creates the ultimate professional conflict for them.

I keep getting these calls - it never stops.  I read that it is the Art Institute wanting my membership renewal.  I have had previous experiences with them hounding me for membership. It is disgusting and I will never join that organization again.

Call the number back; you receive a recording that allows you the opportunity to leave your number to be removed from their call lis.
