Yeah I just got a call from this number and can't call it back. I live in Ireland. It lasted a second and I didn't have time to answer.

I am in Ireland and also just got a call from this number, i suspect it is a computer program trawling a bunch of number ranges to check if they ring and are thus in use, the program will feed back to hacker who will then have a list of numbers to ring for scams etc. Thats my theory now, I cant confirm if I can right..

I would never ring back a foreign number like that mate... Could end up with a bill for €50 for a 2 second connection, I have heard of it happening..

Yeah I think your right. There are a few other posts I was reading with very similar numbers. I have an 087 number even though I'm not with vodafone and on the other posts they all seem to be vodafone customers getting these calls, so the program is probably going through all the 087 numbers one by one.

I just got a missed call from this number.. i called it back on a landline and it goes straight to a girl 'moaning'.. Probably cost a fortune. So be careful guys!

Partner got a call from this line a few minutes ago. Same result as Dirm, with girl moaning. In Ireland with vodaphone too.

Same, 08761* is my number though I'm not on Vodafone (Eircell) anymore.

Got a call from this no at about 11.30am this morning.  I googled the no and got this, thanks.  I wouldn't have called back, but it is still good to know.  I'm with meteor in Ireland with an 087 number as I ported from vodaphone years ago.

Yes, got a call also from this number 2399890138 yesterday at 19.05 and answered to moaning girl....total scam.  I'm goingto contact Vodafone & COMREG today

Got one too and ditto to the moaning girl.  Paid €5 for about 2 seconds before I realised what I was listening too.  Am also 087 with Vodafone.

hi all i am writing on behalf  of my father who also got a call from the number +2399890138 @ 19:30 26/3/2012 (yesterday) we were unable to call it back for some reason my father is also vodafone i think its a scam and whoever it is is after hacking in through vodafone some how i am reporting to vodafone i also found out that the number is from a place in  florida called fort myres thats what i got when i googled   it on my phone last night but i also got something called treeline corp which the number above is that companys fax number and their address is 3820 colonial blvd 100 fort myres, fl33912 so I dont no but when i report back to vodafone i will let you guys no what they say and if they have ant more info about it :)

I just got the same call five minutes ago. Also in Ireland with Vodafone. Should somebody report this to Vodafone if all the calls are going to their customers?

As above 087 number but on meteor missed a call about half an hour ago. Thanks for the info.

Both myself and my sister have gotten calls from this number this morning. We are both on Meteor but with 087 numbers. Thankfully, I Google searched the number before ringing it back!

Its not a Florida number guys. +1 239 etc is Florida. The international code +239 is for some island called San Tome off the west coast of Africa! Well dodgy id say. I rang it back and started moaning and a girl answered saying she would be my wife so i paid for her flight and she gets here Sunday. Cant wait!

got a call on Tuesday 26th March at 9 38 am fro +2399890138 I am on vodafone 087 I have previously got 2 missed calls from same number on my work phone which is o2 086 its obviously a scam of some kind will report it to vodafone but doubt if they can help

Hi Everybody, I also got such a call from that tel.no. in Sao Tome and Principe Island. W. Africa. I have challenged Vodafone about their complicity in charging their customers for such scams and effectively gaining financially from an illegal act. If the cost of my reply to that missed call appears on my bill, I will leave Vodafone in protest and lodge a formal complaint against Vodafone for fraud with the police. I have confirmed with the Com Reg office that this is an illegal scam but they seem to be too stupid or disinterested in either blocking this number or taking any action against Vodafone or whoever.
