It is a scam!! Left a bot message on answering machine advising me to call this " IRS Hotline " because they have legal action against me!!! The IRS deals with you by snail mail!! I just reported this number to the Treasury Department!!

I also received a message from them stating the IRS will take legal action against us. Thanks for the info.
The caller ID showed:  800-829-3676.

My father died a few weeks ago and I received a call from a cruel person who impersonated an IRS agent. I told him I knew it was a scam and that my father is dead. He said, "Oh, why did he have to die when he owes me money?" Then I told him, "Money for what? So you can get the psychological therapy you need?" And then he called me a [***] and laughed.

got a call today, did not answer. they left a message which sounds like prerecorded one. surely with statement about legal action. disregard.

They left a pre-recorded message, claiming that they were the IRS and will prosecute me. I called back the number on SKYPE (they don't see my real number). Instead of Maryland, Bangalore / India was at the other end.
he asked for my Number, I gave him 3 times a fake one, then mentioned his very Indian accent and he told me to f... myself, I wished him the same well being.
The IRS would never call, they send letters.

IRS scammer, claiming we owed money and had a warrant. Threatened to call police. We said bring it! This isn't how the IRS operates. Thick foreign accent.
