Indian tax scam. They utilize stolen financial and credit information to target potential victims. Aside from the heavy accents,  they can use this information to be very convincing.

Tax fraud call

They called my disabled brother who is on SSI and said he was being sued by the IRS.  He called me, very upset.  He gave me the number and agent number.  I called them and said that they weren't the IRS.  They hung up on me (three times). So then I started calling them on different phones telling them they are not the IRS and cussed them out until they began becoming very frustrated with me.  It was fun times.

If you feel you SSN has been compromised, in addition to putting a fraud alert at the 3 credit bureaus, you may want to notify the IRS.  Here is the link, fill out the proper form (probably 14039):

Call them Ben-chode or Maga-chode. These are manor insults in Hindi. They'll go nuts when you do it.

Received call from MD number 240-319-8500. Did not answer. They left automated voicemail claiming to be IRS saying they were going to file charges against me if I did not call them back and settle unpaid tax debt. They are SCAMMERS!

IRS Phone Fraud scam. Hand up and/or delete message, they are NOT real IRS.
