Whoa, talk about a quick response on the internet.  Just got the call right now and looks like all these other posts are about the same time as well.

Yeah I heard LA VOTE somewhere in all the spanish, but it's not an LA areacode.  I'm hoping someone translates it.

5:56.  Left message.  Same as above.  From the little spanish I know, a part of it reminded voters to register before the election.

Got a call, no message left. Called the number back and an english speaking man (prerecorded) said that if I wasn't a customer to press #1 to opt out but didn't identify business. Weird

It's about polling locations for the next California election.  If you only got Spanish it means the recording started before your voice mail began recording.

I didn't pick up but I live in LA so it doesn't surprise that I might get a call about the election.

I picked up the phone with the ID :LOSANGELESVOTE".   The recorded message was in Spanish but I could tell it was about the elections.   Maybe I'm naive, but why is this necessary?  Are that many people living here and eligible to vote illiterate in English?  I guess so, no wonder the dropout rate in Los Angeles' High Schools is 35%!
