- Mary in Maryland| 1 replyCaller ID: QVD left no message on answering machine. I did a small search on internet for "QVD" . 1) Supposedly doing a survey/poll regarding political choices. 2) Leukemia support/fundraising. 3) QVD business enterprise software. We will see after Nov 4th how many of the "political" calls stop. They called before 9:00 am. They skirt it by calling after 8:55am. Enough!
- Mary in Baltimore| 1 replyI answered a call from this number Saturday morning right after 8 a.m. They said it was a fundraiser for Breast Cancer. I agreed to donate money and so they asked me for my name and address so I gave it to them thinking that I was speaking to a real person (a man). Then they said that they saw that the last time I donated money to them (which I didn't remember doing) that I paid it by check and asked me for the last four numbers of my checking account .When I said no, I wasn't giving them that information, it went silent so I said hello and that's when the recording started over from the beginning. I then hung up the phone. I feel that this is a scam.

- never replies to Mary in Baltimorenever give anyone your credit or check numvber on the phone, when someone calls you.
- thirteen| 1 replyAgreed! NEVER give that kind of information out to someone who's called you! It is almost certainly a scam. If you feel you really want to make a donation to someone who's cold-called you, tell them to send you street mail with a donation envelope. The real organizations all have them. BTW the "you gave before" scam is used pretty often, even by supposedly honest outfits. For instance, when I had the Fraternal Order of Police (in Maryland) send me mail, the envelope claimed I'd sent them $100 the year before, and this "fact" was printed above the space where I was supposed to write in the current year's amount. They wound up getting nothing from me.
BTW these clowns at QVD called me today. I'm posting this two days after the election. Thanks for the heads-up about the phony "electoral surveys."- Caller: QVD
- MerlinCaller ID says QVD. Don't know why they called my number and left no message.
- Caller: QVD or Scam
- MariaCalled our house today asking for someone named 'Marcos'. When I said no such person lived there asked could they speak to the 'man of the house'. I said no. Then they said we can speak with you. I told them they were mistaken as we are on the 'Do Not Call' Registry. The woman kept right on talking. Obviously a scam. How do we put these people out of business?

- Harry replies to thirteenI realize that this is months after your post but the Fraternal Order of Police (in Maryland) is a long running scam. While there is an organization by this name along with several "local" lodges, and while they are deductible, they constantly ignore requests to be removed from their various calling lists.
Also, calls identifying themselves as Fraternal Order of Police are common in Maryland and not sanctioned by the real FOP. [Note: They make very little effort to stop the scammers.] - fredTonight they are using "BCFA" as their caller ID.
- Caller: BCFA
- B. WareGot a call at 8:22 am from BCFA. Supposedly from some breast cancer foundation. It's a scam. Don't even answer your phone.

- FED UP| 1 replyThese pests keep calling before 9:00am even AFTER the complaint was filed with the FTC. Today the pests called at 8:00am but got no response here because unknown numbers on CID are NOW IGNORED!!!
Please start complaining to our new Congress ... maybe someone will finally take some action to stop this!
Wishing you all a wonderful week ... free of telemarketers and other pests! - WolfmanJack replies to FED UPThe DNC does not cover charities, therefore your complaint will not be looked into. they also do not act on individual complaints. You need to find out the name of the organization that is calling you and send them a certified, return receipt letter telling them to stop. It needs to specify that it includes all charities they might represent now and in the futre and it needs to be put on both internal and external call lists.
