Foreign accent saying we owe Federal money etc., and threatening what is going to happen if not paid and of course he can help.   His first name was Steve and could not understand his last name.  Why can't this be stopped and deport the individual.

Head over to India. Downtown Mumbai. CBS news had no problem finding their calling centers, which is about every 2 business'. Unless these foreign Government's cooperate, what can the US do?

Just got a call-- CID said Damascus MD.  Guy named "Steve" w/foreign accent claiming I owed money to the gov't and would need to appear before a magistrate/judge. This was the second attempt to reach me.  Never called me by name.    He said for him to help him help me and failure to respond to this call would result in my being in trouble.

I just got the exact same call 5 minutes ago/ the answering machine got it & he repeated that "Magistrate" message 3 times.!!!

Here we go again.  Same as the other posters with a caller named Steve with a foreign accent saying I owe money to the Government.  Oh boy, gonna be in big trouble if I don't respond and cooperate........ Not afraid Steve......

Just got exact same call on my landline from "Steve" ... Couldn't understand last name. It was a pre-recorded message that repeated three times on my answering machine.

Same thing as the others - obviously a scam!

Second call received from this scam in the last hour.  Time to put on call block.

The same guy who has a strange accent left a message saying that my 2012 taxes were wrong and that the irs has sent me 2 notices saying for me to contact them and said that i have gone past the expiration date. I called irs and reported it to their investigative department. I asked the scammer guy to talk to his supervisor he said that there wasnt an available supervisor i asked later on for an address they said that they wanted to know why i was asking them for the address then hung up the phone. The guy and the same lady with the accents. Too dumb to think they can lie to me about an arrest warrant and something wrong with my taxes they got busted by me. I have it all docuented and they can deal with the investigators and get to be questioned and put in prison.

Can trace the number?

Ask them what thei badge number is that will get them busted in their lies more. Then tell them you are tracing and recording the phone call.

Got a call at 0900 hrs. Same things as talked about above. Well I returned their call over and over. Each time I ask for Steve. When he got on the phone I told him to come and get me and a few other things. I called back several time all day. Just made them upset all day.     LOL

Just got the same call from "Steve Modern." He said, "Hi this message is invented to contact you. My name is Steve Modern, and I'm calling regarding an enforcement actions executed by U.S. Treasury, intending your [?]. Ignoring this will be an intentional 2nd attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 2407451340. I'd like you to cooperate with us to help us to help you."

I just received the same message Steve Marrtin and Stella Williams both foreign Funny thing file and pay my taxes every year.

Just got my phone call I'm going to report it but will anything be done about it?

Same as the other messages. I called them back and told Steve to never call this number again and that I would report them to the authorities.

Just got the exact same call, same number, same name  'Steve' from Damascus MD which I'm sure is a back alley in India somewhere.  Same statement saying "Let me help you". Thank goodness for the delete button. :)

Same message as all the others.  Not scared!  I just let it go to voicemail, as I do with all calls from numbers I don't know.
