numerous calls, never leaves a message -- area code is frm Michigan

Got the same call. I'm thinking busted call center computer or a call-back scam. Telemarketers will bulk dial numbers and pass of the call to call centers after the person says something. Simple enough to configure, easy enough to screw up. My bet is this number is used by a computer(s) that have issues with working right all the time.

My second idea is a callback scam. Knowing that people like to call back numbers and say "WHY THE ***** DID YOU CALL ME AND HANG UP!!!!" a lot, you could simply have a pay-toll, like an 800 or 866 number, im not sure if it matter on why 3 digit "type" it is.

Ironically I did get a call one day prior to this event, 24hrs later, give or take an hour or a half. Same call length, but this one was from some 866 number. This leads me to believe that it may be a callback scam.

i got one call while i was at work, and they left a message that just kept saying "hello? hello? is shannon there? hello?"

ok so today they called again and there was someone there...
a few weeks ago my mom got a call from something called "navy veterans association" wanting a donation. she told them not to call her. they kept calling back and i was talking to them and they sent me an envelope to give them money, and i didn't return it. they called back today asking for money again.

i don't know if thats' the only thing they're calling for, but the point is, i think the phone number is a scam and i think "navy veterans association" is a scam

They've been bothering me for the past week too.  When I called the number back all I got was a recording.  They claim we pledged money last week.  Anyone know how to find out who they are?

Phone rang about 7pm. Female asked for the wife in almost understandable, somewhat english. Told her she is unavailable. Female said she donated to the Navy Veteran's Association yesterday and she wanted to talk to her. Yeah. Call back Wednesday, we won't be here.

yeah they called here today too several times without leaving a message, so i searched them on the net to find out who they are!

I'm a Navy vet and I don't buy this.  I got a call from this woman claiming that she was from the Navy Veterans Association and if I would pledge money.  Sure why not.  Send the envelope.  Two days later I get a call.. no answer then they respond.  I hung up.  This is the third day they've called.. twice!  I let it ring.  If I were you people.. update your numbers on the DO NOT CALL List registry.  So they won't be calling you again.  Or just hang up.

Nadine, if it was the Navy Veterans Association it would have the proper title.. US or UNITED STATES Navy Veterans Association.  I have not sent them money and nor will I.

They keep calling like 3/4 times a day. No one there, nothing...no message either. I have no idea who this is but I wish they'd stop calling! Its mostly annoying!!!!

These folks are the reason I just signed up for call rejection with my phone service. They are rude and unrelenting. We get calls every day from them. I answered once and asked Who's this? And the rude woman said Who's this? She finally said she was "Associated Community Services" (Or something like that... What community? Their number is in Michigan we are in Oregon.)  I instructed her to take me off the call list, and she didn't. Rude, rude, rude.

Update: I blocked the call and now another Michigan number is calling: 248-996-1904. So, I blocked that caller, too. Sheesh. Guess I should get a full-time job as a call-blocker.

Some outrageously rude female with unprofessional, substandard English insisted upon speaking to a member of my household. When told she was calling *our* home and thereby obligated to identify herself first, she insisted that this was a follow-up call and she wanted to know if my spouse was there. I gave her one last chance and she launched into a pitiful ghetto diatribe on why she needed neither common courtesy nor respect for intruding upon my private residence. Not only an insult, a waste of my time, and not what I signed up to do this morning, I simply had no more time for this sad little person who never seemed to have been given the benefit of simple home training. I tried, but unable to make up for a lifetime of education and manners in one or two appeals to logic, I hung up. We're in Oregon too... hmmm... wonder what the deal is with a Michigan scam targeting *us.*

Well, I got the same call and recevied the envelope.  The envelope say that the Veterans of Oregon has obtained the assistance of Associated Community Services from Michigan who is a paid fund raiser.  Not sure it is legit or not.  Plan to call the Veterans of Oregon direct to confirm.

I have gotten calls from this number 1 to 3 times a day for the past four days. I don't recognize the number and they don't leave a message.
