I was going to ask the same question.  I received two calls today.  Another unwanted caller.

I answered and got no answe.

I don't understand why they call and then hang up even if you answer, but that's what they did.

Just left tel# no info, I have relatives there and wanted to be sure it wasn't one of them..

Unwanted phone calls from 248-429-4200, Michigan, this is an organization that calls on behalf of hundreds of charity organizations, or so they say.  I have asked many times to be removed, but they just call back about another charity organization.  They call several times a day at all hours between 8:00 am and up till 9:00 pm.  I am sick of this, how can I get them to stop

Sunday calls, this place calls constantly with different Michigan numbers, say that I have 'contributed' last year, and could I do so and can they count on me this year.  I have been nice in the past, and assured them that this is a BUSINESS Number, to take me off of their list, etc.  But they most emphatically pressed that, YES YOU DID, knowing full well that I have not.  I don't even recall who they are, but certainly a solicitation.  If it is for a non profit, ok, but on Sundays and up until 9 at night.
who pays the salaries for these non profit employees?  
I'm talking this group has been calling me for several years.  Always says 'Michigan Call' with different area codes, but I get to the point that I recognize them also in a short amount of time.

Have told them that we donate directly to the charities and have asked them to not call again. Doesn't do any good....

When you can't get annoying robocalls to stop, buy a phone that has call-blocking built in. We have a Panasonic corded/cordless phone that has that feature, and it is wonderful. You just grab the number in the CID list, save it to "Blocked" and that's it. From now on, when they (well, the computers) try calling you, they get a busy signal. On your end, it rings once. Unless you are looking at your display when the phone rings, you don't answer on the first ring anyway, so with only 1 ring you know right away that it is a blocked call, and you can go about your business. Our phone has a limit of 30 numbers in the blocked list. We've been doing this for a few years and haven't filled it up yet.

I have been getting calls from this number for a few days and each time that I have answered it no one answers me just hangs up. I have gotten tired of the calls and don't need anymore headaches because of them. How do I get them to stop?

I wouldn't have answered but I though it was a Michigan relative.
I wonder how much (if any) would get to a charity.

Just got a call from this unknown number saying it was a Michigan call.  We have no family in Michigan,  and they left no message.  We are very tired of these unwanted calls!!   Why bother putting your name on the Do Not Call List,  these annoying people still call!!!

STOP calling my unlisted telephone number. Report you to National Do Not Call Registry.

Never give donations to a stranger who calls you. Might be a scammer. Might be a legit independent fund raiser who keeps 99% for themselves and sends 1% to the charity. Best to donate directly to the charity so they will get 100% of your donation.

After answering the phone today, noticed they had called 4 other times this weekm They were calling on behalf of "Breast Cancer Awarness". Because I answered they wanted my name, they already had my husband's name. They proceeded to inform me we donated $15 last year and asked can they count on us again? NEVER donated to this group. When the envelope arrives it will be shredded. Donate directly to the Charity of your choice for maxium benefit.

Any legitimate charity would at lease show its right name on the Caller ID. These folks must be lazy-- they don't even bother to spoof the name of a real charity.
