They called me to tell me that i have an outstanding debt for American Readers Association and I can settle it for just $699. They never tell me any real information because it's for my privacy. I have no magazines from American Readers Association or whatever and never have. They won't tell me what magazines I have because "it's confidential." I get calls like this all the time from different numbers. I've called American Readers Association personally to make sure that there is no outstanding debt and they don't have me in their records.

Never give someone your information when you can't verify who they are. You should always call them directly.

I have gotten numerous calls from this number saying I owe American Readers Association money for magazines I have never received. The first time I told them I didn't want them and had never received them and was treated nicely and they said don't worry about it. This week alone I have received three (3) calls from a collection agency saying they would turn this over to a credit bureau and "good luck" with that.
I don't want these magazines  and the man admitted they had not sent them to me because I didn't pay for them.....which was around $98.00 a month for three (3) years. My credit is perfect... in the 800s and I do not want this scam to to effect my credit. Help!!

I used to get these same calls from a couple of different numbers.....if I remember right they were located in NY and KY. Same old crap and threats and those numbers were blown up with complaints on the internet. Some people would even settle with them for the amount they claim they owed and then would get more calls later saying they owed another amount or would have money come up missing from their checking accounts. I have started receiving calls from this number in the past couple of weeks but have not received any from the other numbers for months now....guess they finally got caught up with those numbers. I have never received these magazines they claim I received. I just recently had two show up in my mail that I did not order and I immediately called the magazine company whom canceled the subscription and gave me the number to the company whom had ordered it on my behalf. I then called that number and they cancelled it with a zero balance and assured me I did not have any others out and my name would be removed. In my honest opinion it is just a HUGE scam as I have checked my credit reports numerous times and these so called outstanding accounts show up nowhere! I just ignore the calls.

company called me twice,once saying they were american readers association then once calling themselves american readers service claiming i owed money to united readers service,who i since called and was told i did'nt owe them a dime this is a scam because they always call from something called majic jack.the number for united readers is 888-364-4209

I got a two calls from this number within 1 min. apart on one of the calls there was a message that said thank you for calling are customer service department please leave a detailed message and we will get back with you. It is the type of message that you would if you called them instead of them calling you. It sounded like a automated message. I don't know who they are I did not call them back. I have gotten similar type of calls in the past from a different phone numbers and when I did answer the phone once they would not give me any information that could prove to me that it was a ligament  account  when I asked them that same question that you did what magazines I am supposed to be getting they said that they are not given that information for the same reason as they told you no real prove they tell me that I am legally responsible for it and they expect to be paid at that moment. I have been trying to figure out a way to stop the calls from coming in and I have not found a way yet.

I get calls from this number all the time and its nothing but heavy breathing....

This # called us. TOTAL SCAM trying to steal money. Woman said she couldn't tell us what "magazines" we ordered. Didn't say the full name of the company either.

I get calls all the time from this number and it's always the same thing. It asks to leave a detailed message and someone would call back. Today they called me twice, once at 12:30 and again at 1:30. Both times it left a message saying thanks for calling customer service.
