I got several calls from a company called CRS. They deny that this is a spoofed number. They are apparently located in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. I have asked them several times to stop calling me. They say that they will stop, but in a few weeks, they call again. They also go by the name Core Recovery Systems.

Hello bill i got a call from them yesterday. Do you know anything about them, if they are a scam.

I got a call yesterday, said that i owed a loan from 2008 and here it is 2016. I ask them for documentation and didn't get anything. I reported them thou.

An obvious scam.  Looking for the same lady that others keep calling me about, and then some Indian guy comes on the line.

They call me periodically looking for someone with my same name as me but then once they ask me if my social ends in XXXX I say no and they say that they have the wrong person. I have repeatedly told them to take my number off whatever list they have and I have still gotten calls. This has been for years now...maybe 8 years now.

I don't owe any debts but they called in regards to a family member. I spoke to a very rude supervisor and she hung up on me. I called back multiple time to be an annoyance. The 563-231-2627 number works when they called me the number that showed up on my ID was 252-284-0007. They blocked me because I called back so much. I was fun to treat them the way treat people who owe nothing.

I have some time tonight I may call back again.

They call family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.

It's a scam calling about payday loans I have never took out a payday loan! They have even called my work I have reported them

Hello, they called my brother in law looking for me but did not give me a name.  They told me the same thing about a loan in 2012 that I owed.  When I asked for documentation, I didn't receive anything.  They mentioned a CMG group.

My brother in law received a call from this number and they asked for me.  They never identified themselves to him.

They call from a variety of numbers.  Serious debt scammers.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.
