Yes, I received a call from this person. He says his name is Chris Mathew on my voice mail and that he is looking for Michael Smith and that he needs to call his company. Definitely something bogus about his call. I wouldn't answer it.

Yup and I too recieved a call from this number....he sed his name was chris mathews from Marshal Law and accociates and I was to call back ASAP So I DID!!!!  The man sounded middldeeastern and when I asked for Chris Mathws he put me on hold and then Presented himslf as Victor Albernez.....I was PIST off he mentioned my Bank and everythng!!!!!  Sed I had funds deposoted into my account wich I DID NOT and that I was having 3 civil suites against me...he then sed he wanted to do an on the phone afadavid of this that would take 5 mintes I told him to STUFF it!!!! I called him back again yesterday and told him he was in big trouble!!!! Damn ass...get a life!!!

these people have been calling me too but they actually have my full social security number. how can i take action against these people for this ??? it must be illigel for them to have my ss#.

This guy makes me want to drive to NC and meet him in person.  I have enough going on in my life without his b/s.

i also am recieving message from some mr. benjamin also from middle east. he said i took out a pyday loan but he would not give me the date said i would be going to court and a judgement against me in the amount of 8958.00 for a 300 dollar loan said he would put a hold on my ssi what can i do.

i keep recieving messages from a mr. benjamin from marshall and associates. say they are issuing a warrant for me over and unpaid payday loan. I do not know how he gotall my info. but he would not tell me the date i supposedly took out this loan and also was very rude. I tried looking up this company on line and i can not find anythis on marshall and associates. what can i do about this he is threatening to have my disability income stopped.please help

The person in question didnt call me but they did call one of my friends, it is a SCAM!!!!!!!!!!  I got on the phone with Mr. Benjamin and he was rude, and i mentioned callling the cops and reporting him for a scam he hung up on me, So all I can say is to report this man to your local authorities a a Con Artist

The guy that keeps calling is just a Con Artist call the local authorites and report him

I keep getting phone calls from (252) 296-2944 the guy said his name is Steve and that he is representing a law firm Marshall & Associates. He then forwarded my call to the attorney named Mr. Benjamin, they sound like they are from the Middle East,  this is a scam for a payday advance.  They said they are suing me for a payday advance that they put in my account.  They never put any money in my account.  I inquired about some payday loan places, but did not go with these people.  
I think anyone that receives any calls from this number needs to contact the law in Wilson, NC and report them.

got a call from Chris matthews regarding the same thing, threathen me,  3 civil suits against me, i took out $300 now i owe him $600 LOL...he then cursed at me and said if i wanted to keep my job and stop the police coming to my job i must pay him now or else. I told him I got a call from your friend Ronnie Cooper with the same non-sense. PEOPLE this is a scam do not give these guys your time. I hope they are reading this...cuz i already filed a police report and called into the FBI, thats right FBI to track down these con-artist. Please be aware these guys can be calling from India or some place remote. But mark my words they will be found!

well i looked in to it there is no Marshall & Associates law firm even in Wilson NC nor even in the states i don't get how he knows my place if work or even my name and my SSN i'm am getting pissed he said he is going to put a warrant of for my arrest if i don't call him back so i called him back and said i have no clue y he is calling me and if he calls me one more time i will track him down and sue him for Harassment and ID theft plus i'm living in AZ

Same guy called me couldn't understand his name. I do have payday loans out but I know this is scam and told him so when he called. He keeps harrassing me. Tired of all this bull****. Have too much crap going on in my life. Please help

Same guy called my husband said his name is Chris Matthews.  Says my husband owes him 575 dollars and if he doesn't pay he is going to have my husband arrested.  He keeps calling us and threatening us cusing us.  Going to file a police report today

These people are jerks!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I hung up on the guy and he just called me every 2 seconds for the last 5 minutes.  Complete SCAM and I have no idea where they get information on people.

Look everyone it is a SCAM. They are getting your number, bank info, address & s.s. #'s from a list that is sold to them. The list is compiled on from information that has been put on some site(s). My husband and I recently tried applying for a cash advance payday type loan, but we were turned down. This is how they got my husband's info. They basically did what all of those telemarketing companies out there do, they bought a list of names of people who have visited a loan sites, payday loans sites, cash advance sites and etc... the list would have also included information about us that we had provided on those sites like our names, address, place of business, s.s. #, bank info and etc... YES this is illegal, selling our personal info to them, but they will probably get away with it.

The point is they ARE scammers, and they ARE hoping that someone WILL fall for this scam and pay them money. It is stupid... and I saw right through it when they were calling, but not everyone thinks like I do. There are people out there who might think this is real, and some who might really give these scammers money. The sad thing is that even if ONE person does give them money, it will make all of this worth it to the scammers, and they will keep trying it. I mean thousands of people fell for those mail and then email scams... asking you to deposit thousands of dollars into your bank account, keep a few hundred, and then send them a personal check for the remaining thousands of dollars... how could anyone fall for that scam, but TONS of people did... Anyway I have contacted my local police, and I will be contacting federal offices as well since I am sure these scammers are probably located IN India or something and not in NC.  

They had called us 3 times, My husband took the first call but couldn't really understand them, and I took the other 2 calls. When they started telling ME HIS S.S. #, and then list out bank, I knew it was a scam or something, because legally NO REAL company would risk violating someone's privacy rights and etc... by telling a stranger that person's info like they did. They did not know WHO I was when talking to me, yet they told me his (husbands) bank info and ss#. So then on the third call, after calling me a c**t and a b***h LOL, I told them I would be calling the police and reporting them and these calls for harassment. They have not called back since. I did call the police and they took a report, I am now waiting to hear back from them.

only the IRS can touch your disability or ssi checks.  Almost forgot child support payments. A real law company would contact you in writing.

I need to have them stop calling me i did get the payday loans but i am very ill and I am retiring. I have told the payday loan people alot.




this is stressing me out and doing me no good for my illness.

I also have been called - probably 10 times a day for weeks. They called my boss and the HR department at my office threatening that if I did not call them back to take care of this matter they were going to issue a warrant for my arrest. They are definitely middle eastern and hard to understand.

What is the actual law regarding collectors calling and harrassing someone both on the cell phone and at work? Can anyone provide me some information so I can get this stopped?

Called my office number (instead of another one which is correct) and asked for an employee who was not at work at that moment.  Gentleman sounded middle eastern and said his name was Jeff Foster.  It was very hard to understand him.  I  took message and will pass it on to the employee the next time she is at work.
