Received repeated calls from this number past few days. Two calls after 9:30 pm. Don't answer because I don't recognize the number. Caller ID sometimes has "SSI". Call not traceable. Leaves no message. This is fraudulent.

Yes ID is SSI.....I answered and the person said "Who is this?"
I replied.....YOU CALLED ME SO WHO ARE YOU?
They HUNG UP

I didn't answer a call on Sunday evening because I didn't know the number... mine is unlisted.  I suspect it was a telemarketer but on Sunday?!!  D.

Same here, SSI sounds like a scam

Got a call yesterday. Answered cause I saw SSI and thought it might be Social Security. Nobody on the other end. Just called again, but will not answer anymore!

SSI was on caller ID, VoIP phone from Ahoskie, NC

Received several calls from this number, caller ID says SSI. When we answer there's no one there. Based on above comments, will not answer anymore.

Repeated calls from SSI and they hang up when I answer and also hang up when it goes to voice mail.  Who are they?

This is SSI  Survey Sampling, a marketing research company. To get removed from their call list:  URL is http://www.surveysampling.com/.

Keep in mind also, that if they do not remove you, they can still get into trouble for not placing you on a internal DNC. As a rule, survey's are exempt from the DNC..   Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Got a call today...lady said...hello there...this is Lynn Davis...I am trying ...and phone went silent...then fast busy signal...we have been on DNC list for years...it's a laugh....  Between political calls and polling, which are mainly, automated and don't disconnect even after you hang up..thus keeping your line occupied so much so, that if you hang up and need to make an emergency 911 call, you can't because when you pick back up, the automated message is still going even after being hung up on and not picked back up for as much as five minutes!!!!   Not sure who this ssi company is, but loose my number!!!!

Came up on caller id as SSI. Woman on the other end said they are not selling anything and are conducting a survey and asked how many people are living in the household. I told her three the butcher, the baker, the candle stick maker. She hung up

Called at 6:55pm, Sunday, 2-15-15, no one spoke but I could hear sounds in the background before they disconnected.

Received several calls from this number and never answered.  Today, I did, but  I spoke German.  Lady said she would call back later.  If she tries again, I will switch to French.

caller came on after a pause and said he was doing an emissions survey in NC that would take 5 minutes and asked for me by name. I hung up anyway because I do not like to be bothered in my home with something like this

Same as above posts. Repeated calls from this number. Caller ID says SSI. I answered first time and no one responds. I no longer respond but it is quite annoying. Our answering machine message ask that unless you are family or friend to please remove us from call list. We have been on the Do Not Call Registry forever but evidently it is not helping.

Called my cellphone.  Answered because I was expecting  a call from that same area code.  Great deal of background  noise and caller was very difficult to understand.  Heard something  about "survey" and "four questions".  Hung up & blocked the number.

The Do Not Call Registry is a joke.  They should call it The Give Your Number Out so they can spam you with useless crap.  Didn't answer it I get so many crap calls on my time warner phone number Me thinks TW sells your number to these spammers.

*sigh* The DNC isn't a joke but it also isn't a call blocker and thus cannot prevent scammers from calling you. LEGITMATE

telemarketers follow the DNC but scammers could care less.
