Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC

I receive phone calls from telephone number 252 847-0528 on my cell phone multiple times daily.  The caller ID on my phone displays this number but does not list the name of the person.  I think the lady/girl calling me has a speech impediment or some sort of disorder.  Sometimes she will try to say a word or two, then immediately hang up.  Sounds like "aahhh  oohhgh" or similar.  Sometimes I hear a television in the background.  One time, I heard a man's voice telling her to "hang up the phone", and she did so immediately.
The lady/girl is not rude or obscene in any way.  I am curious just to know what is going on with the calls.  I have added an entry into my cell phone "AAA Unknown Friend" so my phone will display the name whenever she calls me.  
I'm not frustrated or annoyed by her.  I wonder if maybe she's just lonely and  needs or wants to talk to somebody.  I'd be glad to, but she always hangs up before I can say much to her.

Maybe I'm weird, but I do worry about her...

I am the one who made the previous post.  I had accidentally typed the incorrect phone number in the body of my message.  The number of the person who is calling me is 252 847-0527 (not 0528).

I received calls from this number last night, 4 of them, all after 11pm.  I was not bothered by the calls, just that it isn't the first time it's happened.  Found these posts, thought I'd add to them.  I wasn't aware of the calls until this morning, and they didn't leave a message.

I'm getting the same thing..no idea.  Every day though at about 9 pm and 7 am.  different number though

Didn't answer it, though I was called once at 4:07 pm and then again at 4:08 pm.  I also have received a call from this number at my house.

Wow, pretty cool that I found this forum on the first try. I received a call this morning at 4:53 AM. I was still sleeping at the time and only realized that I had received a call when, after I woke up, heard my phone vibrating. It came up as "Name unknown" on my phone's display and the caller did not leave a message. Yes, this is curious indeed. After a Google search, the number was revealed to have originated from Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina.

Clients/agents that do collections...credit agency filing and verification before filing...

I just got a call from this number as well. I normally answer all calls but for some reason I didn't this time. Kind of wish I did... sounds like it would have been interesting!

Received hang up call at 10:26pm hang up again a couple of minutes later. Called back and was given the switchboard to PCMH auto answer message.

Annoying.

It's almost 10 p.m. and we just had three phone calls from 252-847-0527 Called ID came up each time as Pitt County Memorial Hospital. There wasn't anyone on the line, just sounded like someone was trying to send a fax.  I called the number and got through to the switchboard.  The man told me there was no way to trace the call since that number is the standard outgoing number for the entire hospital!  I sure hope this doesn't continue.

It's actually the number that will show up no matter who is calling from PCMH, from any phone in the hospital.  Sounds like most of these calls are probably from patient rooms.

Just got a call today from this number, let it go by to voicemail. Looks like the calls continue!

This is Pitt Memorial Collections, they left me a msg to return the call and a reference number. I had surgery end of June and just received the bill 2 weeks ago and now collections is calling me

The number is a generic number for Pitt County Memorial Hospital... I have received three calls back to back from them one at 9:45PM and two at 5:24AM and 5:30AM. Every time the woman tells me its a wrong number and hangs up immediately. Hears the rub though the call at 5:24 went straight to my voice mail which clearly ID's me, so for you to say that calling me three times in a row is a wrong number that's BS.

When I called this hospital the woman advised me that this is a switchboard number and there is no way for her to tell me who called when I pushed further she transferred me to the hospital police to file a report. If I get one more call from them outside of collection hours (keep in mind I have never been a patient there) and do not identify themselves, the next police I call are going to be Pitt County/Greenville and file a complaint with the FTC as of right not they are at 6+ violations if this is an collection attempt for someone who as only driven past the hospital.

I just got a call from this number but it was legit - it was an employment reference check for a friend of mine who just got a job there. The lady was very nice and very professional. She identified herself as calling from community something and said she was doing a reference check for a local hospital.

Got the call at 9:27 EDT today on my cell. Did not answer but this page was top of google search of the number.

If you call back its Pitt hospital switchboard and a recording says no matter who called this is the number that shows up....patient room, employment etc.
