got a call from this number and when I answered the phone I heard a robotic voice said I was approved for a loan for up to  $5000. Sure......the call was from ge money.

Are they fake

Short answer-Yes.  If you did not apply for a loan, one will not magically appear out of thin air.  Loan companies do not pick names out of a hat to give loans to.  Also, if they were soliciting business, the offer would be made by mail so that they can get your signature on file.
In addition, GE Bank has changed its name and is no longer called that as of last year.

I just got the same phone call 5 minutes ago. I knew it was a scam so i figured i would mess with them so i called them and got an India perso. So i acted like i was very hard hearing so i made him repeat everything about 25 times, we only got to my first and last name, on the address part i got hung up on after 30 repeats, lol
