Automated call saying they are from the IRS

I got a call from these scammers last night, had to laugh.

Received message from this number and a different one claiming the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. Shows how ignorant they are because the IRS would send a letter not call.

Got two calls this morning an hour and half apart with the same automated message.  The message says the IRS is ready to file a lean and to call them back.  Did a reverse search for the phone number 253-220-7221.  Comes up based out of Washington state.  

There is a widespread IRS or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

If anyone is keeping tabs, our office got a robo call from this number this morning, 1/20/15. Message was exactly the same as previously reported: The IRS is filing lawsuit against us.

They called my house saying I have a warrant for my arrest and i owe 4,980.  This does not seem right. did anyone call and talk to any of them???

Thanks for the msgs all.  Just got this call myself (from a Colorado #: 720-448-5617, saying to call 253-220-7221).  Stupid scammers.

Called from 17254825637 left voice saying the irs is filing a lawsuit against me and to call 2532207221

Same thing got the call  from1-729-412--5647 saying I'm being sued. and to 253-220-7224. I got nervous but my finance said they send letter's out. Also how did they got a St of CT cell phone number?

Track these people down.

My Client, who is is Hispanic and speaks little English received a call from this number. They harassed and intimidated him stated that they will arrest him in 20 minutes, revoke his drivers license and throw his but in jail if he didn't pay his IRS bill within 20 minutes. They were also going to call police and close his bank account. Called IRS and was advised to contact www.TIGTA.gov and tfc.org
