Left voicemail pitching a free medical alert system

Just got one from them a few moments ago. No answer.

Caller ID read: MEDICARE HELP - However, call did not come from Medicare!  It was a recording from an unknown company selling some type of "Alert" system, similar to the old "I've fallen and can't get up" commercials. Recording instructs you to press one number to reach/receive additional information, or press another number which indicates you're not interested. I hung up then blocked the number.

Assume it was a telemarketer for, but have to share that I am ironically grateful.   They called within minutes of someone close to me passing away.   It was the only time in the day that they made a sound, as if to say 'Tommy may be calling, I need to pick that up'.   A few minutes later, they passed away.

How do I block this number from my cell phone?

I answered but no one said anything.  Like someone else on this board, I also recently lost a loved one.  Vultures.

I did  not answer this out of area call. Thanks to you that post on this site, I know its a solicitor.

I had several calls from this #, sometimes up to 3 to 4 times per day and as latte as 8:30 PM.
Since I don't know who they are, I don't answer the phone.  They don't leave a message, but sometimes they call right back.  Wish I can stop this kind of calls.........

I keep getting calls from this no#.  I don't know anyone in Washington. They keep calling while I am work.  

I keep getting calls from this unknown company.  I tried to call back and no-one answers.  It is bothersome.  I am at work and I shut my phone off but somehow it comes back on.

when i checked on reverse lookup it says its a landline number but definately spam maybe spammers use their home number sometimes

Phone rang, by the time I got to it, they hung up... but then I listened as my phone message continued to the end and there was a static like a trace was on the call to see if someone picked up.  Thank you for all the 'heads up'.  Like our cars being programmed to tell NSA or others where we have been, how long we stayed, stops we made, and other private issues, that are no ones business,  the game is on.

Just lost a family member and thought "Medicare Help" on caller ID might have something to do with some of the  medical bills in the last few months of their life.  Seeing here the scam that it was, I'm thankful the ringing ceased before I was able to answer it.

A call was recorded on my machine, identified the caller as "in area". Really????? area code isTacoma Washington,  I live in New England. Do people answer these calls?

@Mary:  I got the same CNAM 'In Area'.  Riiiiiiight.  NoMoRoBo killed the call before I could answer.
