Got a call asked for me by "Chris" then disconnected. Caller ID was dis police FD

Got a phone call from "Dispatch Police/Fire" who asked for Steve.  When asked who was calling they hung-up. I called my local police and fire then MAC...nobody was looking for me, which in this case was a good deal.

Got a call 12/26/14 around 5 PM.

CID says "DIS POLICE FD".
Area code is in our state (WA) but not in my area.
Figured it was teledopes. Let it go to the machine, no message.

I wonder if these are the same idiots who put "Alert" in caller ID for a different number.

So what happens when they start calling your cell phone?  Do you dump that also?

This is a scam.  I have gotten these calls   dispatch police but calling from different states, they want money but they are a scam.   I am tired of all the scams.  when the phone rings on my landline I just hit the talk button and then hang up button.

I received a call where the caller said they represented an organization to support wounded police and their families, and wanted me to donate.  I said I would not commit to anything over the phone and ended the conversation.

Received call from 253-237-7002, I didn't answer and caller didn't leave a message. I called the number and a recording stated it was the "Disabled Police and Sheriff's Association" fundraiser. The recording said depress the number 1 to be removed from their call list. This I did and I will see if the instructions are true.

Caller asked for my wife by her first name. Why I said "Sure, may I ask who's calling" he said "Just so you know I'm calling from corporations for..." click. (That's where he hung up on me, not the reverse.)  So, they're not only scammers, they're sexist scammers. Apparently they assume women are more likely to fall for the scam than men.  Dbags.

Second call from this number. Researched here and on similar sites last time, so this time I picked up.

After he did his opening spiel, I said: "You seem to call here a lot, so I've researched your outbound numbers online, and I've found that a lot of people you call are reporting that you are scammers. Why is that do you think?"

Long pause.  Then he started to repeat his spiel, so I interrupted and said "I asked you a question. Why do so many people report calls from your number as a scam?"

Then he said "I'm having trouble hearing you, I've muted your microphone..." then repeated his spiel and suggested I call their customer service directly, but didn't give a number other than the one that showed on caller ID.

If this isn't a scam, they are at the very least extremely inept.

Last week I got a called from "DIS POLICE FD" (253) 237-7002  when I was not home.  They didn't leave a message.  I have a strong feeling that it came from the same scammers that called me today and this time the caller ID displayed "DISABLED POLICE" (360) 967-5371  and asked for donations for wounded officers & their families.

I did check with the police and they told me it's a SCAM.  I already blocked those two phone numbers.

I can usually count on  this caller to start my day. The call comes in around 8:15 am.  Don't answer and they leave no message.Maybe next time they call I will answer and tell them I have reported  this number to the FCC and FTC. Did this to those annoying guys saying I have a computer issue and those calls have not been coming  lately.

They are also using 425-880-7861 & 360-967-5371   and calling about the same time of day 8:-15-8:30 am.

I got a call from these people, alot. I asked about the overhead and Chris said it was 90%. Only 10% actually go to the disable police but I am not sure now.

Dis police/fd calls every night around 7:40pm to 8:00pm never leave a message. Out of state number 253-237-7002.  I gest i will anser and let them know to remove me from the list or they will be reported for hurassment.

There's a couple other numbers showing up as some form of United Breast Cancer/Cancer Awareness. All of them are scammers.

Our caller Id showed "United Breast C".  didn't pick up.

CID United Breast C:  interesting that this number was previously reported being used by "DIS POLICE FD".  In the last two days I've recevied calls from 253-215-6802 "SUPPORT FIRE", 360-572-6210 "FIRE RESPONDERS", and 509-317-6621 "FIRE FIGHT".  My guess is they're the same scammers using different phone numbers.  In the past, the few times I have picked up to confront the lazy thieves, I've asked that they place me on their DO NOT CALL list.  If they were legit, they'd honor my request, but they aren't.  They just keep calling.

CID reads United Breast Cancer. 6:17pm. No message.

Caller ID just shows the phone number 253-237-7002.  I did not recognize the phone number; but, the area code seemed familiar. I let it go to voice mail; but, no message was left.
