robocall on Tuesday 01-27-15 @ 1015 AM - phone referenced in call was 253-336-5037 form state of Washington.
Do not have Caller ID on one of my lines (my C-line) so unsure of original spoofed phone number.

Received the following = "This is an automated message by the IRS. We have been trying to reach you. This is the last time we will attempt to reach you before a lawsuit is filed against you by the IRS. Call 253-336-5037, Repeat 253-336-5037."

Eastern shore of Maryland - Call from this number @ 130PM stating IRS was filing a lawsuit against me, no further information given other than to call back for further information

I'm located in Northern Virginia and got the same message as reported by others. The time of the message was 9:45 a.m. and the call actually came from another number, 585-335-9098.  The message said to call the number listed in the transcription below.  "This is an automated message by the IRS. We have been trying to reach you. This is the last time we will attempt to reach you before a lawsuit is filed against you by the IRS. Call 253-336-5037, Repeat 253-336-5037."

1/30/2015, 5:20 am Pacific ... My unlisted landline phone was called.

"This is an automated message ... We have been trying to reach you. This is the last time we will attempt to reach you before a lawsuit is filed against you by { I couldn't catch the name of the company they mentioned } with the IRS. Call 253-336-5037 immediately ..."

Folks -- The IRS does NOT call.  They mail letters if there is a problem.

Ignore the caller - it is a SCAM!!

Yep it's a SCAM. Got 3 today from different #'s and I'm unlisted as well.
As said, The IRS sends a REGISTERED LETTER if you have an "issue".

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

I live in Idaho and yesterday got the same pre-recorded message.  I never called back because I know the IRS does NOT operate this way.  Then I got a SECOND phone call from a different number: 360-851-4693.  I decided to call back out of curiosity.  I was told they did an audit on me from 2008 thru 2013 and that I owed $2,335.  I was threatened with being arrested in 45 minutes and losing my driver's license for 5 years.  I told him to take a hike and not waste any more of my time and hung up on him.  Here I sit - no, I never did get arrested!  What terrible people trying to scare people and scam their money!

Received a call at 7:20am saying the IRS is suing me. 253-336-5037.

Yesterday I received a call from 607-625-9911. The message on the other end was automated. Here is what the message said to me: "This is an automated message by the IRS. We have been trying to reach you. This is the last time we will attempt to reach you before a lawsuit is filed against you by the IRS. Call 253-336-5037, Repeat 253-336-5037." I went down to the local IRS office in Salt Lake City to speak to them about this. I was assured by them that this was not a call from the IRS and was a scam. As people above mentioned, they said that they would NEVER call you.

I was asked to send an email to PHISHING@IRS.GOV with the details of the call that I received.

when you receive a call from these crooks, just tell them you are a federal agent, the call will be terminated immediately

Live in Colorado. Got the same call & message on  that number 253-336-5037 yesterday 2/6.

IRS warning of fake calls.  Report call to FTC.  Maybe then they will stop.

Live In California and got the call this morning 2/6.

Was from  New York 5188859403.  Was a robo-call asking me to call the above number. Sounded like a scamming call, so I looked it up on google.  Yup, miles of messages that it is.  Put on auto-reject.  IRS always wants a paper trail, so paper happens first.  Stupid scammers.
