Identified self as IRS agent in Washington DC - This is a scam.  Caller had a thick accent.

Recording said final notice from IRS before filing suit.  Gave a number for me to call.  This is a scam.

Just got a call as well, ironically I filed my taxes late this year so kinda freaked out

Received a call from supposedly the irs  Called back and they said I owe for 3 years of tax miscalculations,  Hard to understand the person on the phone,

Received call, said was from IRS and that I owed 5 years of back taxes. When I pressed for more information he made some threatening comments, said he had my address and his company was going to come after me.

Received call from this number. Person identified himself as an IRS agent, James Thomas, badge # 8915-stating that due to IRS miscalculations I owed back taxes from 2008-2013. Stated that they (IRS) does not send letters out anymore and a Sheriff had been dispatched to my home on Sept 9, 2015 but no one was there to receive the warrant. Told me I had to pay 1/2 of the debt today and if I don't this action would constitute me neglecting a debt and defying the federal government. I should sell my personal belongings in order to take care of this and if I don't do it today they would freeze my bank accounts. Very thick accent, condescending and yes, threatening.

Our local 311 operator told me our county (Clark County, SW Washington) is being hit hard by this scam. She suggested I go to IRS.gov and report it there. I urge anyone who received this call to report it.

Caller left a message that I was the subject of a lawsuit and to call back for further instructions.

Keep getting false calls saying they are the irs. If it really was they would send a letter. Do not fall for this scam. Number appears as 253-336-5325.

The call was a recorded message indicating that this was the "final notice" from the IRS regarding monies owed, and that I should call this number:  253-336-5325 to arrange for payment TODAY or the IRS would be filing suit.  The number is the same as the original call, and when dialed, you get a message that the number is not in service.  Scammers!

Said they were from the I.R.S  and they were suing me for back taxes.  They said to call back for further instructions  They're phone number is;   253-336-5325  no name given.  I.R.S  would send a letter by mail.

Caller had heavy accent and told me we had a lawsuit from IRS. He just ask for Moreno, did not respond when I ask him what Moreno. He just hung up on me. I'm sure this is a scam.

said was irs, gave this number to call back on recorder. at 4:55pm 10/26/15.

I also just got this call. I called back and a very indian accent guy answered and said his name was Mr. James. He said is this Larry and I told him he had the wrong name and number.   Hope he doesn't call again.  wow, what a scam this is....

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

Several calls from this number.  Clearly a scam of some sort. Did not call back.

Got this voicemail today. Northern Indiana. Supposedly IRS. Just googled number came across this site. Wasn't about to call it back. I have actually had issues with IRS and its ALWAYS by mail for informing someone. What a Monday!

We just got a call from this  number. It was a female and said it was IRS and it was advance notice of a law suit. We hung up! I had been at my neighbors earlier tday when she got the exact same call on her rcorder. I told her it was a sham. The sad thing is when they get someone who believes them and falls for their lies. We do not answer any call that we do not recognize the number or name o
f person calling us.

Today I had 2 messages on my answering machine with a recording that had evidently started as soon as my message began, as it was part way through when my machine picked it up.  She gave the number 253-336-5324 to call because this is a final notice from the IRS regarding my tax filings.  I am in Northern Indiana as well.  Please everyone, do not fall for this!  A month ago my sis rec'd a similar call stating there was a sheriff dispatched to her house and she needed to pay immediately.  She called me in a tizzy and I calmed her down by letting her know the IRS does not handle anything in that manner.  They will always start with written communication through the US Postal Service.

called said ti was IRS.  When I called back and asked them if they thought I was stupid they hung up.  So I called again and they kept hanging up on me.  Finally got a hold of them and I started cursing at them he was like whoa and I hung up.  Stupid idiots it is a scam.
