I answered and a recorded message claimed the IRS was initiating a law suit against me. The above number was given as a call-back number, but the caller ID showed the call as coming from 360-637-6804.

I also received the same voice mail. Is this legit? I'm scared to call back, but also scared not to.

It's a well known and widespread scam. The IRS does not phone you about problems without having contacted you first by registered mail. Google IRS SCAM, do NOT call them back and don't worry: they're crooks.

Same as Annoyed but I did not answer. A very very poor quality voice mail message. Caller ID on the incoming call is from 443-320-0277. The message indicates to call 253-655-4868 but I had to listen more than once to understand the alleged IRS phone number. No way would I believe this is from the actual IRS.

Makes one wonder if the IRS database has been leaked. Someone could stand to make a lot of money or a lot of jail time for that.

Call them back and threatened them.  The woman who answered when I called back was very scared of me.  Of course you realize this is a SCAM.  Have fun with them.  Tell them to come and get your money because that is all they want.  Don't send them or anyone else a prepaid debit card.

Got the same exact thing !  And they continue to keep calling and leaving messages ! Annoying !!
