Got a message on phone claiming the IRS had a lawsuit against me. Do they really think I'm that stupid to fall for it after all the publicity and news stories? It showed up Clifton, TX on my caller I.D.  I wish they could catch these idiots.

Called saying they are IRS. Have been trying to reach me with a law suit against me.

Woman said she was from the I R S, and that they have been trying to get in touch with me for a long time, answered her with your full of crap and hung up.

I’ll be honest, I lost my breath completely until my wife pointed out it had to be a scam of some sort.
I’m certainly going to report this to some appropriate authority!

This is scam number. The person taking the call back could hardly speak English but tells you he is the IRS and that I am being sued for back taxes.  I told him I had no idea what he was talking about.  The trace I put on the calls shows the area code 254 as being a number in Waco Texas.  The caller was very rude and smart mouthed. When you call the number back it rings for 8 to 10 rings and the person who answer states he is with the IRS. SCAM

Identical call as others, leaving VM that I needed to call them about "the case against me." I'm reporting the number.

Just received the same automated call. Accountant warned against this way back when we filed our taxes this year.

Message left was "This is the IRS, calling to inform you about a lawsuit against me. Call us back on our business line 254-326-1654 for more information". I called the number, rang twice and then gave a busy tone? Must be a scam of some sort? The US government would not leave a message without a name and case number as reference! I will try it again in the morning. Sounds like a scam to me.

I've decided to answer all calls, Robo and unsolicited and interview the callers.
Enough is enough! Time to go for the jugular!

Answer the phone
Do not respond to questions.
Ask for the name and number of the caller.
Inform the caller that you are going to report this number to the Massachsetts state police and the FBI Department of Investigations for Telephone Fraud.
Put on kettle. Have a nice cup of tea.
Don't be a victim. Pass it on.

Called Texas Landline Thu 15 Sep 2016 11:57 , I answered, asked them to identify, no response, they hung up.
Area code 254  which is Texas so in 2-3 minutes one can fill out online complaintforms for Telemarketer Complaint Form _ Public Utility Commission of Texas

State agency is more proactive than federal. I encourage all to file on these leech numbers. Easy peasy..
