calls 2-3 times per day.  no message and i never pick up.  It's a Texas number so a teli i bet.

First call from this number. Rang three times and hung up.  I did not answer.

Called number back from another line and it took me to a generic recording to be added to their do not call list. Definitely a telemarketing firm. Block.

Called 06/24/15 and left no message. Shows as No Name.

let the machine get it and had to cut off the robocall, heard it already a couple hundred thousand times, at&t are too lazy to block these I talked to them and they act like- well that's your problem ,not ours we don't have to do anything about it

Credit card SCAM.
You block one "concumer svcs" scam number and a new one calls the next day.  Of course they ignore your demands to stop calling. My call block list is full and I AM DONE PLAYING. I pressed 1 to talk to a rep, and the [***] got a nice blast of air horn.

It's a recorded message offering to lower the interest of a credit card. If you don't wish to receive calls from this number, call back and press 1 after the prompt. It will remove your telephone number from their calling list.

A lot of posters here complain they get many calls from scammers.
A few posters state they get hardly any.
Why the difference?  Here are possible reasons:

The most common mistakes made by people who receive calls from unknown numbers:

Answering the phone.
Instead of answering, let the call go to voicemail or answering machine.  Legitimate callers will usually leave a message.

Pressing a number "to be taken off the list"     ◄- ◄- ◄- ◄- ◄-
That works for legitimate telemarketers, but legitimate telemarketers would not have called you in the first place, if you were on the DNC list.  Pressing a number on a call from a telespammer merely confirms you answered the phone.

Returning the call.       ◄- ◄- ◄- ◄- ◄-
At best, returning a scammer's call merely confirms your phone is "live", and your number will be added to a list that will be used by even more scammers.  At worst, the call will cost you additional fees, if it is from a foreign country, such as Jamaica (876 area code).  Also, scammers are now spoofing Caller IDs, so the number you see may not really be the number that called you.  It might belong to an innocent, third party.

Arguing with the caller:
Call center employees have probably heard your argument many times.  They may either continue to try to scam you, or they will hang up ... but will also make sure some other scammer calls your number, later.

Blowing a horn or whistle into the phone:
Will irritate the scammer.  The scammer may then add your number as a "spoofed Caller ID", so others think YOU are calling them, and YOU may hear retaliatory horns or whistles if the irritated called person calls YOU back!

Forwarding the call to a government office.
Not too swift.  All that does is tie up a line at the govt office, and record YOUR number as the forwarding number!  Realize that your congress person knows phone scams are a problem, and also knows the FCC and FTC have been assigned the task of upholding the laws concerning this problem.  Instead, you should report the problem via normal channels to the FTC or FCC.

Giving or forwarding the supposed scammer's phone number to other scammers.
May not be a good idea.  The 1st scammer might have used a spoofed phone number, and, if you give it to other scammers, all you are doing is causing more calls to and problems for an innocent person.

Eventually, after getting many scam calls, some people think their only recourse is getting a new number.  That is not true.  The "new number" is probably somebody else's "old number", and will come accompanied with its own baggage (and calls).

What you SHOULD do:
If you are disturbed by frequent calls from scammers / spammers. obtain a call blocker app, device, phone, or service.  Google is your friend.  Remember, the Do Not Call list is effective to prevent calls from registered telemarketers, but scammers / spammers ignore that policy.

(1) These robocalls are not telemarketers; they are con-artists out to scam you.
(2) Don't press '1' to allegedly get taken off the call list; It doesn't work.
(3) Don't answer, choose to talk with a person, and then tell them to take you off; they will disconnect by time time you say, 'Please take . . . .'
(4) There is a reason many of these calls start off with, "Are you calling to take advantage of our . . . ." For the scam artists that allegedly do stuff and then smack you with outrageous charges, they can use your answer to say you agreed in advance to their "service."
(5) When the robo-message say, 'This is your last chance . . . ' or 'This is your last call . . . . ' or anything like that, don't believe them.
(6) Don't believe anything from robo-calls or any unsolicited human calls, either.
(7) Con-artistry has been around for ages. Unfortunately technology has made it very cost effective, if they can sucker 0.000000001% of the people they call, it is cost effective.
(8) There is also the possibility that the con-artist is an identity theft who matches up phone numbers with names, addresses, and other information. By answering the phone--even with an answer machine, you could be verifying that the phone (a) is an active number and (b) belongs to you.

I needed a fax so purchased an all in one printer. I've had the printer for about 4 months, when a call comes through that I don't recognize I hit the fax button so the caller get the fax tone. I can tell you this has cut down the calls I was getting. The calls have gone from 5-6 a day to 1-2 a day some days my phone is silent, I'm happy the worst thing I ever did was put my number on the DNCL that was about 4 years ago and I was inundated with calls that I had never received before. I think the scammers somehow get that list and have a field! Will not do that again!

I have been getting calls from this card member services to lower my credit card payments, for 5 yrs. I began keeping track of them...date, time & name of person on line, I even managed to get a company name & address. Contact the Attorney General of your state. A law was recently passed, each call from them to you is worth $500-$1500 PER CALL. I've been keeping track for a year or so now & will be filing soon.

I receive a call from this number every day at approximately 10:30AM.  I called RCN who informed me that they are unable to block the call.

We frequently receive calls from the above mentioned telephone number. Our machine waits for 6 rings before answering. The caller never waits that long.

The mix of upper and lower case letters in the Caller ID screen along with the usage of the name combination of a city/state tells me that this is a telemarketer calling about lowering our credit card interest rates.
