received a call from this number. said I had a computer virus. Scam

saw an uknown number didnt waste my time to ans. Most of the calls i get lately are scam.Being on the do not call registry is a joke. I get nonsence  calls almost daily so stopped answering.

Just got a call.  They said they were ATT and noticed I had suspicious activity on my computer.  They wanted me pull up a browser and type remote123.us into the address bar.  I acted like I was doing it then asked his name again.  He said he was Paul Wilson.  Instead of typing in the address bar I did a search on remote123 scam.

I then told him my anti-virus just popped up and said this is a scam site (it didn't, but I knew it was a scam).  Then I said another screen popped up and told me to tell him to go f himself and hung up.

This is the 4th call like this in a matter of 3 months.

Got call from # and showed as WIRELESS CALLER at 1:23 pm.  Caller had Middle-Eastern accent and asked for me by name.  He said he was from AT&T, which is our internet provider.  Before he could continue speaking, I told him I didn't need anything and hung up.

just got 4 calls in a row with no response when I answered. Did a reverse lookup. Glad I did

Just got a call a Smith from ATT said I had suspicous actvity on my computer. I told him it was a scam and hung up ,third call in two months with a different name. Can't anything be done about this.

The same thing happen to me. Something should be done.

Call your local authorities and find out what can be done.

Have received calls every once in awhile from 254-784-5226.  Now they do not leave a message.  When I call back the "voice mailbox for this number is full and cannot take messages." THIS IS A SCAM.  DO NOT F@#& with me fellas.

In the last six months have you had AT&T ConnecTech assist you in an computer issues?  I did.  I am thinking information is getting out through a source connected to this technical group.  I was not receiving these calls until I had AT&T ConnecTech try to provide customer service.  I wonder if the techs I had problem with are selling client info to screw with us.

Yep. I have ATT's Tech Service. Your theory is possible. I've found this service is useless anyway. The first Tech couldn't fix my problem and said I'd have to contact the manufacturer. The second messed up my wireless printer connection. Another disconnected one of my third-part browser plug-ins (without my permission - just did it as he was supposedly "cleaning up" my computer). It's been one fiasco after another. Frankly, I know more than the Techs do. I ended up taking my computer into my computer people. They fixed everything, but now I've paid them and am still paying for ATT's contract.

I HAVE BEEN  GETTING  PHONE CALLS  FROM THIS  NUMBER  FOR  FEW MONTHS NOW  BOTH MY HUSBAND   THIS  GENTLEMAN CLAIMS THAT  HE WORKS FOR AT&T AND THERE IS  A PROBLEM  WITH  MY COMPUTER  I HAVE  SPOKEN  TO AT&T  MY SELF  AND  NO WORKS FOR  THEM AND  THIS  MAN KEEPS CALLING AND HARASSING  THERE  IS  NOTHING  WRONG WITH YOUR  SYSTEM IN FACT  AT&T  JUST  CHECKED IT  OUT T LAST WEEK  AND  WE ARE THE  NOT CALL LIST AND I HAVE  REPORTED   THIS  WITH   AT&T AND TOLD ME AGAIN THAT NO ONE WILL CALL ABOUT YOUR SYSTEM  I WANT THIS CALLS TO STOP  AND WHAT THIS COMPANY TO  STOP  CALLING MY  HOME  AND MY HUSBAND  HAS  A  DISABITLY  AND THIS  KIND OF  CALLS  UPSET  AND GO INTO  SERIZURES  DUE  TO STRESS OF THIS  CALLS  AM  VERY  UPSET AND WHAT THEM STOP  ASAP. I KEEP GETTING THE  SAME  CALLS  BUT THIS TIME  FORM A DIFFERENT  PHONE NUMBER  THIS  NAME  DOES NT  WORK FOR  AT&T  I HAVE ALREADY CALLED AND REPORTED  IT  I WOULD  CALL THEM BACK AND HAVE THE  PHONE NUMBER  BLOCKED IF YOU  DON'T  HAVE  CALL BLOCKING   GOOD LUCK

We have an Unpublished number and I pay for this farce.  Anyway, we keep getting phone calls from 1-254-784-5226.  In my case, no one is there to speak or not to speak.  It's just annoying.  At least its not the inaudible message telling me that I'm going to be served with court papers at my home or at my place of business.  What's the point of reporting these nuisance calls if nothing is done to stop the calls.

I just received a call from this number. He said his name was "Daniel" and he claimed he was receiving messages from my computer indicating problems. Said he was from AT&T support services. Because I have dealt with these callers before, I asked him his surname and he said it was "Brown". I called him a liar and told him he was really stupid if he thought Americans were so dumb as to not know that that name does not go with an obvious Indian accent. I said I knew it was a scam. He then ADMITTED it was a scam, and said that Americans were dumb, which is why he and others like him have gotten millions of dollars from us already. He seemed to be going into "so, what are you going to do about it" mode. He admitted he was calling from India. He asked me for a hundred dollars. I told him to stick it where the sun didn't shine. Of course, he didn't know what that meant so I had to tell him. He wouldn't hang up, apparently wanting to keep playing the game, so I finally hung up.

Got a call from this number and spoke to a gentleman with a heavy Indian accent who claimed he was calling from At&T Global Network. THEY ASKED FOR ME BY NAME.
He stated that several problem eMails had been received from my server regarding problems with my computer
I told him I did not think his call was legitimate and hung up.

Got a call from 254-784-5226.  It came up as wireless caller.  I don't answer anything unless I know the caller, but I get horribly nervous and upset about these calls.  Wish I could just get rid of my land line. Why can't this be stopped?  

Call came through as "wireless" (AT&T identifies itself).  Guy with a heavy heavy accent asked for "Miss Aileen" (my first name) and then identified himself as "Johnson" calling for AT&T.  I replied "They KNOW they aren't supposed to call this number" (which is unpublished) and he hung up on me. So I don't know if it is a scam or not. I do have AT&T connect tech, but I haven't used it in at least 6 months. (By the way, to get decent service from Connect Tech, demand to speak to someone in the US).
