- annoyed1-256-526-9650 is a very bad #. Don't even call it back. You may end up w/extra charges on your phone bill! All they need is for you to call back. 1st call I got (no company name given) vm=asked for someone I don't know and made it sound like a debt collector. 2nd call vm=with English accent says they will lower my interest rate to 6%. Please go to FCC and register a complaint against this #. I am.

- TimGot one about an hour ago. You should report these at https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088.action?form_type=1088G. It really does help. The best way to make these stop is if everyone takes the call and uses up their time. Act interested, then start giving weird answers to questions, call them names, insult their relatives, anything. I wouldn't recommend making threats, but they can't do anything to you because then they would have to admit to making the illegal robo-call in the first place.

I get numerous call from "Credit Card Services" When I ask them if cards in "Collections" can be reduced, or I tell them I am filing bancruptcy....They hang up- Caller: Credit Card Services
- Tom replies to fedup| 1 replyThe callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card number to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!
- John replies to TomThe card service scammers WILL "service" our credit cards, BUT, when they finish "servicing" them, they will have no available credit remaining!
- SuzeeThe number is a fake, and so is the caller, and you can't get them to stop. Try this instead: Listen to their pitch for a minute or two. Tell them you run a telemarketing division, you really like this guy's pitch and style, and you'd like him to help you find telemarketers in his country because you know they work for less than the Americans you employ, but you don't know how to get started. You want to hire this guy to be your manager in his town, hire telemarketers for you, and you'll pay him triple what he's earning now, provided he's willing to break the law. Get his cellphone and home phone numbers, his name, address, and then go for the name and address of the company he works for now. Sign off with, "I'll run this by my partner and get back to you." If they called your cellphone, press-and-hold their number on your 'recent' call list and add it to a Contact called "Spam." Set that Contact to always go directly to voicemail. (P.S. -- A therapist once told me I was the most passive-aggressive client she'd ever had.)

- IrritatedI have 2 fav ploys with these calls. As soon as they start speaking I start talking over them:
"Hello, my name is George. I'm calling from the Continental Life Insurance Company to discuss your family's life insurance needs". The longer they stay on the phone the thicker I lay it on.
I also like pretending to be a hard-of-hearing and confused person.- Call type: Telemarketer
