Call about car survey

We received this call at 8:44 p.m., August 4 2014.  The number is in our area code, but not recognizing it we let it go to the answering machine.  No message was left.  This call is in violation of the state's Do Not Call list, on which our number is listed.

At 7:15 on 8/5/14 this number called.  Did not answer it and they left no message.  Caller ID said "SSI"  So unless it's a federal employee harassing folks using a Sprint phone, based in Albion IN [according to other phone check sites] it's something else....esp since someone else (above) reported same thing yesterday.

This is Survey Sampling International.  The type of surveys they conduct make them exempt from the Do Not Call list. They are required to maintain an internal DNC list and place numbers on it when requested. They have an opt out link on their website, a number you can call and the agents calling with their survey questions should also be able to place your number on their internal DNC list. They have 30 days to comply.

I've been getting the same calls and more so in the evening.  I thought it was Social Security but thank you Mike-in-MD.  It is unbelievable that any survey company is expecting people to ever pick up.

I never answer phone numbers I don't know call ID is wonderful

Answered because it was from the zip code I am moving to. Caller said he represented an online company I have done business with. Said he wanted to ask a few questions, 1st of which was my job title. I said I was uncomfortable & did not want to proceed. He tried to explain there was nothing to be concerned about but I answered same way & asked him to remove my nbr & I would go online & close my mbrship with the company that  he was calling to survey for. He thanked me for taking his call.

Left no message, called from Albion, IN.  Would love to get callers personal number and address.

I didn't hear the phone call, but came and looked up the number since I did not recognize it.

This number calling my cell phone and house phone when i listen  to my voice mail all i her is unwanted noise  and sound like someone is covering there mouth i dont answer it im going to put it on call block

This caller needs to stop calling

Received call.  Didn't answer and caller left no vm.  As mentioned above, went to SSI's corporate website and opted out.  Don't know if it'll work, but fingers crossed.

Please let us know one way or the other.

When I answered the phone the research company wanted me to do a survey.  She spoke very quickly so I had no time to speak.  I just hung up.

Caller hung up after machine message played through.
