The message I received stated that they were calling regarding "a personal matter" and left me an 800 number to call: 888-850-6428 After further research I found that this number belongs to OSI - a collection agency. I don't have any past due bills. Have no idea why they are calling.

Then I called the number, and it says 'Welcome to OSI, if you know your party's extension...'
OSI turns out to be a collection agency.

for half an hour he kept saying, can you hear me and giggling. i hung up.

Yes this is a collection agency. I have done work for them.  Either there is a crossed number somewhere or you're behind a few months on a bill.

These calls started on a Saturday morning. before 12 noon the phone rang 3 more times. Each time the same number appears on caller ID OSI 262-787-4163. The first call a person asked for someone by name, I told her she had the wrong number and she hang up. The next 3 calls, whoever called just hang up as soon as I answered. Is there a way to stop these people? I'm not behind on any bills and I certainly don't owe anybody any money.

I received a call from a computer at WORK that said they have a call for - and gave my full name and asked me to call 1-888-850-6428. I returned the call and was put on hold.  While holding, the recording said to be prepared to give your social security number.  I don't think so!  The funny thing is... we just got a new phone system with new numbers and I haven't given it out to anyone yet????

They call and hang up before I can answer.

I don't know why they would call me, I am not late on any payments for anything. If I was, I would expect to get a written notice from a company as a reminder before I got a collection agency call.

If it weren't for caller ID, I wouldn't know who was doing it!

It is annoying and I don't know they call me if they aren't even going to talk to me! What is the point of ringing my phone ?

We recently went through bankruptcy and shortly afterwords was getting phone calls from a collection agency.  I informed them that the dedt was charged off in bankruptcy and with that we got two more calls.  Those calls stopped, but the number I retained and didn't think a thing about it.  Recently that number has come up again and the calls are starting again.  This time I will take it to my attorney.  I have not attained any new bills since the bankruptcy.  

Our goverment has allowed us to become slaves to the financial institutions.  I will not borrow a cup of sugar.  We had credit card debt and without even being late they increased our rate to 29%.  I got mad and gave them everything I had.  I can see them increasing on dedt that is new, but not on existing debt.  The contract is not with them, but it is on you.  Now that the economy is slowing down they want help.  I say let them drown in their greed.  Thanks for letting get this off of my chest.  I am happier now than ever.

They continually call throughout the day/night (on same day) and never leave a message.  They are very annoying as they wait until my answering machine has picked up before hanging up thus using up all my machine.
I don't know what they want as I do not owe them any money!

Received call on my home phone early this morning. Caller ID showed it was from OSI 1-262-787-4163 -- I have no idea who this company is or why they would be calling. I gather from other posters this is either one of those collection companies that buys out dated accounts for pennies on the dollar or is quite possibly a phishing scam... Advice: If you are ever asked.. NEVER give your SS# over the phone to anyone for any reason!

This number called me today. I know for sure that I don't owe any money. I pay my bills either before I get them online or right when I get them in the mail. This is ridiculous. I would never give my SS# to strangers either. Who do they think they are?

This number called - when I picked up, a recording started.  Couldn't understand the message - it was garbled.  Something needs to be done about these harrassing calls.  I sure won't answer any more this number.

Just received a call from OSI and the guy said he was calling about a "Traffic Violation". When i asked who the violation was for he told me to hold on and hung up on me!!! That's when i Googled the number and found this board.

Well, got a call from this number on my work cell.  Something about being a collection agency, gave an 866 number and a person's name.  No real person, just a recording to call back.  I don't know of any law abiding collection agency or broker that would do this.  Obviously they take on different disguises as these posts attest to.  Hope they go belly up soon!

We were glad to find this website to see that other people are having the same problem.  We keep getting calls from 262-787-4163 when we answer they hang up.  This has been going on for 6 months, last evening my husband asked who is this before they hung up and they asked for James then hung up.  OSI shows up on our caller ID but we have no idea who they are.  Appears from other messages on this website that they are a collection agency, we have no past due bills and ZERO debt. No reason other than a hoax for them to be calling.

I keep getting calls from this number. Like others, I'm not behind on any bills. Harassment is still illegal in America, isn't it?
