I just received a text message on my cell phone informing me that my Wells Fargo debit card has been temporarily blocked. The message was from "contact165@tower.com."

I have no Wells Fargo debit card.

I just received the same text. Seems like a scam. I'm not going to dial the number.

I have no Wells Fargo debit card either

just got an identical message.  I do have a Wells Fargo card, but they say it isn't them.

Just recieved a text from contact995@taxe.com stating my wells fargo debit card has been blocked and to call the security department at 267-335-5039; complete spam!!

via email, cut and pasted the message:

contact995@taxe.com / / Your Wells-Fargo debit card has been temporarily blocked - Please call (267) 335-5039

Of course, I have no Wells-Fargo debit card or account. My son received the same email minutes later. He has no Wells-Fargo card or account, either.

It is a scam!!
They will ask you for your social security number, debit card number, account number, pin number & all kinds of other identity steeling info. It is very obvious if you do call but PLEASE do not give them any of your info!!

Same here, I do not even bank with them.

I just recieved a text saying my Wells Fargo debit card has been blocked and to call 267-335-5039. It came from an email contact165@tower.com.

Got the same message. checked here. looks like a scam so I won't be calling. thanks for the posts!

I just got the exact same message and have never banked with Wells Fargo.....total scam. I hope everyone will report them before some elderly person gets scamed.

i just got the same thing....i do bank with wells fargo so called them using the number on their website. nothing wrong with my card or account. this is totally a scam.....thanks for all the reports.

I just got a text telling me my Wells Fargo debit card has been temporarily blocked. I do not have a Wells Fargo debit card. Clearly a scam. Very irritating.

Same message, same text address, same phone number as noted above...
I do not bank at Wells Fargo.
